Surrey Rolling Road

As many of you know SRR had been fighting to find new premises after effectively being served an eviction notice some time ago.

Charlie has recently posted the following on his Facebook Page:

It is with much regret that SRR has to announce that we will be closing permanently on the 29th March 2014.

Our landlords, Crest Nicholson and Aviva has done their very best to destroy the company i've spent 9 years building. We have not found any premises nor is it looking likely we will do, and with 7 weeks left to go we have run out of time. Our landlord could give us more time, but would be 'unhappy' about doing so. Added to that the £7600 back rates bill they have managed to dump me with and the incredible amount of stress they have put myself and my family under over the last few months and I've had enough. I've been a good tenant for 8 years and they have treated me (and other tenants) like scum. Hell, the person who makes the decisions at Crest about mine and other business's does not even have the balls to speak to me personally, they just get a junior to do it.

So, its game over, thank you to all of you have supported the business over the years, I'll miss you and the business greatly.

Thanks ,

Charlie @ SRR

PS, we will be here till 29th March operating as normal, so come on down!

Sad news this. Wonder what will happen to his dyno equipment? I know I'll ask Wednesday as I'm popping there.

Looks like road mapping from now on for me or go to zen/ rcm for the figures

Sad news, a few good days have been had up there.
The problem with rolling roads is that not every resident or council want them on their estate. The one in Hastings closed for noise reasons, or so I heard.

post a response on Facebook at how you will miss ;)

Will be sad but will use eurospecs dyno or subaru4you or Hayes engineering.

Although longterm plan is still to get my own.

I'm booked in with JGM on Wed at 2pm, will any of you be there at around that time?

There is a place like that in Smallfield, but I know Charlie wants to stay local.

Gutted about this, Where am I going to take my cars now? SRR had good honest rollers.

Domo2106 03-02-2014 10:41 PM

The only other one local is austec racing in Crawley but I'm not sure if they will hire it out as they do remaps themselves

I don't know if this will be any help but I don't know what they will be doing with HOWE BARRACKS in Canterbury as there is a MT compound there with one big massive hanger that will take dyno equipment and a workshop to work on cars . You can always find out what they are doing with the camp but nobody is moving from there until the summer this year as far as I know , that's the only problem .

There is a RR in Littlehampton as well, Charlie actually trained the guy who runs it I believe, it's a part of Devil Developments who are Ford Guys.
