V power

Just gone up to shell garage in bohemia road hastings and its turned into a bp. Wat the hell! Does any one know where the nearest shell is ?.

Dunno, don't us the stuff unless passing.
Tesco 99 in mine normally.

Never tried that tesco fuel , gather it runs ok on it Scott ?

Scott.T 12-02-2014 08:32 PM

No problem, although when mapping I always tried to recommend Esso or a good 97. That way if they chose to put 99 in then there's extra protection, but they can also throw 97 in and be safe.
Your not going to notice the performance difference with your bum, only on a dyno if done back to back.

I stopped using Shell regularly when it was optimax as my old MY94 used to have cold running hesitation on optimax, which disappeared when I put Esso in and returned on the next tank of optimax.

Shell offer an app to find closest garage.
Probably on web also?

Yeah I allways use momentum99 as there's no shell near me, lucky cars been of the road for a while really as tescos near me hasn't had momentum for about a month though, apparently there's a problem with their pumps??

I'm lucky got a choice of tesco or shell within a two min drive from house but use tesco a lot more as seems to be better and lasts longer plus building up my points on the club card .

I've been meaning to give the tesco momentum99 a try but can't find one near me I had to put bp reg 95 Ron in today as it's all they had and I was almost empty it has been pinking slightly on boost ever since

There is a good post duncan did on his racedynamix website on different pump fuels. Generally our cars are most happy on highest octane you can aquire, strictly speaking , as the Surfer has said ;). Overall v power has the edge , tesco 99 a close second, etc etc. Closest Shell is now at the boship roundabout :)

That's the closest one to me also there used to be one on the way to Brighton (over beachy head) but that closed and am sure it's a BP now

I'm lucky I have 8 shell garages within 20 minutes from me, 2 less than a minutes drive
