ej20 rocker gaskets

I was under the impression that the rubber gaskets on the cam covers didn't need gasket sealant as they were rubber. Just changed mine and the old ones had gasket sealant on. Should they have gasket sealant on them or not ?

that cam cover looks completely different to a turbo one, but yeah, I think i'll pull it off and try it with gasket sealant then
