HELP snapped one of the top bolts on the suspension
As above,I have snapped one of the 3bolts on the top of the suspension(rear).
All the other bolts are tight,is it safe to drive? How easy is it to replace the bolt? Or do I have to replace the whole top ? Cheers jason |
Aren't they studs with nuts on the rears ?? If u have snapped a stud it would probably need a new top mount
|
Reading on the internet,it seems you can take the bolt out.
I am guessing that I would have to take the spring off to get to the top mount |

Guess I will be taking the whole thing out one way or another.
Just need to find a second hand top mount....anyone? |
Press or hit the remains of the old stud out and then put a bolt back in it's place.
You may want to get someone to put a tack weld on it to secure it in place and to stop it spinning when you refit the strut. |
I've got spare fronts but only spare new age rears
|
I guess the rear ones are different to mine?
|
Newage are different to classic as have different mounting pitch and the new age has a much greater tapper on the spring.
