Modified Live, Brands Hatch - Saturday 8th November
 

That time of year again when we start the list for our club stand at Modified Live :) Last years club stand was probably our biggest ever turnout for an event with about 35 scoobs, so lets so if we can beat that :ok:

This years event is slightly different as its a Saturday rather than Sunday, and its later in the year again. However, the idea is that the final races should be in the dark :drive:

The event will also include:

* Time Attack Series
* 1100bhp Racing Truck demos
* Drift Taxi's : catch a ride for £10
* Classic F1 cars on track (4 this year)
* Stunt Shows
* Show N Shine
* Trade Stalls
* Huge Car Club areas
* Prizes and competitions

Entry is £12 per person in advance, paid to the club via Paypal to payments@southeastscoobies.co.uk (please make sure you cover any fees, and add your forum username in the notes section!). The club will the order the tickets for all members and distribute them at a meeting up point on the day (which will be confirmed closer to the date).

If we haven't received your payment by the time we place the order with the organisers, we cannot include you for tickets. No IOUs/will pay you in cash on the day offers please, we've been bitten before by no-shows!

Is the stand open to other vehicles? My mate wouldn't mind tagging along in his modified vxr nurburgring if he can.

Unfortunately for Modified Live we've always had a Subaru only rule on the club stand (whether that be Imprezas, Fozzys, Legacys, BRZ etc). We get a few requests for this kind of thing each year from people asking if friends can come in non-scoobs. If we allow one (even as nice as a VXR Nurburgring is) we can't really say no to someone else in an old Vectra ;)

So it is scoobs only on the club stand I'm afraid. Maybe worth him looking at the VXR clubs, I know one of them was there last year. :)

That's fair enough. When he gets back to me I'll put my name down with however many tickets.

Gutted this clashes with the Tempest this year as its normally an excellent day out. Should be worth going just to see the Gobstopper II in action. :doubleup:

Yeah. :( I'm really indecisive what to do to as I missed the Tempest last year (and I haven't done any rallies this year :oops:), but Modified Live is always a good day out and the Gobstopper II is going to be there this year, plus there is a possibility MDV will be down at the track...

Unfortunately not, the tickets we get are for car clubs only on club stands, I don't think they let you though the public gate with them (we go in a different entrance).

OK maybe I should clarify my earlier post.....

I said scoobs only earlier in this thread as every year we get numerous requests of 'can I bring my mate along in his car' - and we have to say no as we're a Subaru club and don't want our stand to appear as a random mix of cars. Saying scoobs only is a simple way for us to enforce this. We've even had an 'SES members only' rule in the past, only for people's mates to sign up to the forum, post once to say they want to come along and then we never hear from them again after the event :fool:

However, we understand a few SES members, who have been long term members of the Subaru community (but no longer own scoobs) wish to attend the event with us. On this basis, both Moley (Evo) and Anger (Supra) are on the list and they are welcome to join us. Matt - you are welcome to be included in this if you wish :)

Just don't complain if we hide the non-scoobs at the back ;) but hopefully that clears up any confusion.

For those who are going to be using the M23 that morning just a heads up that between Gatwick and Reigate there is a 40mph limit and down to 1/2 lanes due to roadworks, and it gets very busy/jammed on a Saturday morning, so worth leaving plenty of time or to take a different route.

Who was your passenger going to be Tim? If it was Sim and he can get himself over to Hastings I'm sure one of us can give him a lift.

Yeah its pretty crappy through that section isn't it. I'm hoping it won't be too bad that early in the morning though. At least they've finished Handcross for us suvverners ;)

It'll be about 7:45am, in one of the previously used locations just off the M25 exit. Aim to leave there by 8, to get up to the circuit for about 8:15am - although i'll confirm everything later this week :)

Having been up at the BSB last weekend and seen the soggy (boggy!) state of most of the grass areas, I queried this with the organisers and they've said that all clubs will be on hard standing this year. So i guess there'll be a lot more clubs down in the lower paddock area and the drift taxis will be condensed/elsewhere/not at all.....

Thats just pure speculation though ;) So..... best way to tie down a gazebo when its on tarmac so can't be pegged?

I've used spare wheels at previous shows... Or even had a couple of cars either side of the gazebo up on ramps with the lines tied off to the ramps. (Works well if you have a couple of cars that are about as clean underneath as they are on top... Scott's springs to mind! ;) )
