Scoot Greg has had one as well as a scoob. I'll text him to add his comments. Funnily enough I've been thinking of m3's

I'm also thinking of getting one as well as having the Scoob. Mate hot one a few weeks ago and I liked it a lot.

Nearly got a supercharged one but got the Supra instead, now back in a Scoob

All id say is take a big long drive in a Scoob before you buy...they are a lot different. I love my scoob and I wouldn't swap it for a M3 but if you like luxury, low wind/ road noise have real painful piles or like having to drive slow in the wet then I wouldn't swap if I were you. 😁

I've had a Supra TT6 with 450bhp. It was extremely quick but the handling wasn't up to much. You had to be very careful with the loud pedal, especially if you were pressing on. If the second turbo came on mid corner then you had and armful of opposite lock, usually resulting in a brown trouser moment.

I like the M3 but it feels heavy and the parts are just stupid expensive

Umm, not sure if this is any use but I used to run an e36 328i coupe - this was the junior 'next one down' from the M3 with less power, but ran on M suspension. It was a really sweet drive on the right road. The Scoob is a wicked drive too, but it's very different from a BMW coupe. Much easier to drive fast, but arguably scarier because of this? Maybe just me lol! Comparing contemporary models, (bug/blob/hawk vs e46 M3) I'd say standard v standard the Scoob will be quicker in most 'real world' situations. The M3 has more power than a std newage STi but weighs around 100kg more (and anyway most STi owners have done at least basic mods to 330+). As Jusnogood says, in the wet the Impreza will be much, much quicker. Of course the trade-off is fewer luxuries. For a more 'rear drive' feeling car, maybe look into DCCD model Imprezas?

Well I driven hundreds of e46 m3s and I would take a widetrack STI all day long over any of them. I find the Scoob a much better drive and it feels quicker in most real world situations.
