New classic owner.

Hello everyone. My name is Colin. I bought my impreza classic mid December. Really loving it. Had to replace the radiator as it had a pin hole leak. Just Ordered cambelt, water pump, oil and filter, air filter fuel filter and plugs. Mainly for peace of mind. It has full service history. The rear arches were done 10 days before I bought the car. I'm hoping to go to events and shows this year to see what it's all about.

Cheers

Colin

Mortster 16-01-2015 03:23 PM

Hello and welcome. Nice to see a OEM one these days.

ScoobyColin 16-01-2015 03:25 PM

The welcomes keep coming :-) she's original all apart from 4 pot calipers grooved disc and a back box. Although I am looking to tinker slightly.

Red Baron 16-01-2015 05:39 PM

Subaru embossed 4 pots were standard from 98 or 99 onwards.

Welcome along from from another late, UK classic owner by the way :)

ScoobyColin 16-01-2015 05:40 PM

Learn something new every day :D So now it's standard apart from back box and grooved disc lol

Red Baron 16-01-2015 05:43 PM

Backbox looks similar to the Prodrive one, has it got any markings on it?

I haven't had a good look at it. On the service history it only states "fit customer supplied rear silencer"

This arrived today :)

Red Baron 16-01-2015 06:05 PM

OK, just thought you may have picked up one with the PPP without realising it. Would have been a nice bonus for you.

ScoobyColin 16-01-2015 06:08 PM

Wow yeah. Any other "tells" that I can look for?

Red Baron 16-01-2015 06:37 PM

Easiest one is look for this intercooler pipe.

ScoobyColin 16-01-2015 06:38 PM

I'll have a look later. I had a quick Google. Are the wheels bigger? I have 16"

Red Baron 16-01-2015 06:48 PM

The PPP was a new ECU, de-cat centre pipe, intercooler hose and back box, different wheels were an optional extra available on any Impreza I believe, if you have a comprehensive history for the car I'd expect the certificate from Prodrive to be lurking in there somewhere.
I did mine myself via odd bits from eBay.

ScoobyColin 16-01-2015 06:51 PM

I don't have the original invoice of sale so there are a few bits that may not be there. I don't recall seeing any blue under the bonnet though.

ScoobyColin 17-01-2015 09:37 AM

No blue prodrive pipe for me. Just a black one.

Scott.T 17-01-2015 10:07 AM

Sorry, had to correct the Typo in the title...it was bugging me......

ScoobyColin 17-01-2015 10:09 AM

Me too but I couldn't find out how to do :D

Thank you.

Hongkongfooi 17-01-2015 05:07 PM
