Whistling from the rear??

Hi guys and girls, long time no speak!

Car was off the road for the winter, since bringing it back I've got a whistling coming from the rear, heard loudest in the back seats and boot. I've changed fuel pump (uprated to 255) and car past MOT so I don't think its a exhaust leak. Car is running fine overall, no loss of power or eml.

Could it be anything else or just me being paranoid?

Thanks in advance.

Constant noise or does it change volume/pitch with speed?

Normal just at idle once car is up to temp.

put some gaffa tape over the mouth of the person in the boot, helps stop them whistling!

could it be a small whine from the fuel pump?

That's what my money would be on.

It's quite commonly reported in Imprezas I believe.

If its worth the hassle remove the rear seats and see if you can pin point it a little easier then. Mine are out the car at the moment as I have had them out for a shock and spring change, you would be surprised at how much noiser things are behind you without them.
