Buddy club seat rail problems

Anyone fitted Buudy club seat rails before?

After spending about £150 on a set for one seat, to say I am disappointed is an understatement.

Bolt holes for floor mounting are off by a mile, I have since seen discussed that classic and Newage bolt positions are very slightly different, but buddy club list same sub frames for all years.

To pay so much for something that is described as direct fit is rubbish.

Anyway, looks like I am going to have to modify them, which I might as well just have made custom mounts to start with.

Oh and while I am having a moan lol, corbeau's new club sport seats, good for road use, but don't have the support of my old recaro pole positions for track use. Good value but a compromise I feel for track.

not sure where you sourced them from but they should be a direct fit.............

Alynn, I only wish I though of sourcing stuff from you, unfortunately I rushed to buy them on Internet and didn't really think.

I need to file about a half inch elongation into the rear sill side hole for it to line up. Is this something you have heard of?

I have tried everything I can think of to try and allign everything up but it just won't fit, unless my car has been cut and shut........ I don't think so.

looks like i am not the only one, i guess subaru and buddy club production tolerances can account for some of it, but mine are pretty well off.

You have given the game away now Si ;)

555_Si 01-04-2015 02:09 PM

lol. no i haven't as original seats going back in, i have measured everything up and nothing is right about these mounts at all, the rails don't sit parallel, one rail sits higher than the other also i can't gring the hole out as it is just too much out and not enough room to get them to fit without many washers to space stuff, by which point the seat won't be strong on the mount.

the only thing i can think of is by any chance that the wagons are different to the saloons?

both my interiors are from wagons so i wouldn't know, but i do know the original seats fit perfectly.

Pretty sure they are the same as a saloon in the front, Alyn might no more.

555_Si 01-04-2015 02:26 PM

ok, just found the problem i think, just gone to get the box they came in to pack them up and speak to shop i bought them from and they arefor a GRB not GDB, so thats why!

checked my order and i ordered the correct ones and they have sent wrong ones, so they better take them back even though i have tried to fit them!

SpecB 01-04-2015 03:38 PM

The wagon and saloon should be the same as we had my old WRX seats in the classic wagon!

555_Si 01-04-2015 03:46 PM

yeah, dealing with supplier now, am waiting for them to get back to me, but it looks like i have been sent the wrong ones, trouble was they looked near enough at first sight to fit, so i thought they were ok. only today did i notice GRB on the box. doh. not what i needed at the moment.

I had the same problem with my Bride seats, had to use a file to make one hole bigger and a crow bar to move them about

asperformance 02-04-2015 08:39 AM

new-age & classic (wagon or saloon) should be similiar fitment - Hatch is different altogether as you have found.........

555_Si 02-04-2015 06:41 PM

well things are getting all sorted, should have new correct rails here early next week,

reminder to self - must use AS Performance in future! goes to print out number and hang above computer!

Scott.T 02-04-2015 08:52 PM

Classic and New age are exactly the same fit. Although new age seats post 2002 sit higher.
