Time Attack R3 2015 - Brands Hatch

Few shots of the Time Attack cars running as part of Tunerfest at Brands Hatch last weekend.

You’ll have to forgive the lack of variety in my pictures; given the Brands Indy Circuit is ringed with high fence now, there aren’t many places to take pictures from without fence getting in the way!

I was disappointed to discover RCM weren’t there, but there were at least a few Scoobs out on track. They were vastly outnumbered by Evos though.

The Pro Extreme class was headed by a pair of Evos; Andy Demetriou’s Evo VIII was quickest in practise, but was beaten in the final by the SVA Imports Evo VI. The Evo VIII looked (and sounded) meanest though!

Some cool cars in the Retro class as well.

Not the busiest event I’ve been to at Brands, but at least there was some decent machinery on track!

Nice photos mate. We gave it a miss this year in terms of having a club stand in favour of Bromley and Beaulieu.

You clearly weren't the only club thinking along those lines; SIDC had a small stand, as did Kent Impreza (or Kent whatever they are this week), but that was it. The MLR and GTROC stands looked a lot smaller than usual, loads of marques weren't represented at all. I'd say there were less than half the number of cars on show as the last Modified Live I went to (in 2013).

Funny, as the amount of times I heard people say how much better Modified Live would be in the Summer: they moved it, and nowhere near as many people came!

I think a lot of people didn't even realise that TunerFest was the new Modified Live.

I searched for Modified Live on google earlier this year to find the dates and nothing came up. I then got an advertising email for TunerFest.... it was only because I checked with the Mod Live organiser via email and she confirmed it was an event rename with the same people running it, rather than a different event completely.

Maybe we'll be back next year, maybe not. Bromley was a good show and I expect that to be popular again next year....

Fully agreed. I am of the opinion it was a very poorly handled bit of re-branding, this...

...confirms that to me. I can understand that the general public may not have picked up on the name change, but to not clearly convey that to those organizing club stands seems stupid to me.

That's understandable. It's a shame Bromley clashed with American Speedfest or I'd have definitely been there.

Cracking snaps as always Steve, I do like a bit of time attack!
