Back out and restore Windows 8/7 would be my advice.... I am a complete cynic on the topic of Windows 10 though so possibly not the helpful response you were looking for!

That's strange try play a simple music file see if you get sound then? If so where are your videos from? If they are downloaded off the net then you need a vlc codec pack as some formats army recognised out the box. I am at work at mo so will try find it when I'm home and ping it over to you. I would say first things first is restart computer and try playing a variety of videos to see if the problem is reoccurring

Viewed videos on SES, on YouTube and on micro card from car cam, no sound on any of them.

After downloading VLC, I can....

Watch my car cam with no sound. (micro sd card in laptop)
View Videos on yahoo with no sound.

I Can not view videos on youtube or from video section on s.e.s. forum.
Do I have to uninstall windows media player? thanks for any help.

PjBendejo 27-10-2015 10:29 AM

No you don't have to uninstall it. I think there may be an issue with your media playback device (sound card) go into control panel and check default audio device

Do you have the latest audio drivers for your sound device? Realtek is most common (64bit_Win7_Win8_Win81_Win10_R279). Do you have flash player installed/enabled (depending on which browser you use) Windows 10 Edge browser shouldn't need stand alone flash as it is built in for example. You could try an alternative browser such as google chrome.
