Headlight bulb upgrade
I'm looking to upgrade my headlight bulbs, but not looking for higher wattage/illegal bulbs and extra wiring, I just want a straight swap.
I'm looking at Osram Nightbreakers? Are these worth it? Any other suggestions? Ta! |
Yeah they are good bulbs - have them in my Mondeo and scoob :ok:
|
You could also replace your bug lights with some pristine morette headlight - would only need a spray up to black for one :ok: (Yes a very cheap plug there!)
|
Had an email from Europe Car Parts yesterday saying they were half price, still £17 a pair though, not sure if you can pick them up cheaper elsewhere.
|
Went for the Osrams recently, very good bulb! Picked them up on Amazon for about £12 in the end.

Ultimate upgrade for a Bugeye is a Set of JDM HIDS - failing that try to get a set of STI lights as the projectors are so much better than the WRX units as they use separate Dip and High bulbs compared to the H4's on the WRX.
|
Thanks for the replies! Sounds good, I'll get a set, they're a decent price on amazon. :ok:
Can't say I'm a fan of morrettes, but a set of STI units might have to happen in the future! |
Halfords Brilliance. Same thing but those in the know rate them for value as well as output

Agree with Nick,HID kit is a bit more expensive, but once fitted the difference is amazing. Had them fitted about 10yrs ago, still working fine.
|
Just don't fit a H4 HID kit to the WRX lights!!
STI lights with HID dip beam re-wired to stay on with high is a good option but the OE JDM will be better as the projectors are correctly designed. I run the JDM HIDs with the indicators and the sidelights swapped over (LED sidelights) to give a better look to the lights (almost like DRLs). |
Fitted a set of nightbreakers and will see how they compare tonight :ok:
