Sigma alarm problem
 

Have got the dreaded immobiliser fuel pump failure on the joker wagon. Car sat on drive and won't start.managed to start car using a spare battery and a couple of wires connected directly to the fuel pump. Don't surpose any one can recommend an alarm installer company near horsham. Cheers Richard

Are you sure it's the alarm and not the fuel pump relay, been through this recently myself.

If you do need someone, Road Radio in Crawley sorted my friend's car alarm and he was complimentary.

The Redhill branch did the window tinting on my wife's wagon (so not alarm work) and the staff were excellent, so I'd give them a go for sure.

Sadly it's not relays bought 2 new ones and fitted them, still wouldn't start, without hooking fuel pump up directly to second battery.

Run a new piece of wire from the relay feed to fuel pump..... ;-)

You can also follow the wire back from the fuel pump towards the relay, this will be intersected by the immobiliser , you could just simply cut the intersection out and make good the oe wire.....

If you run a new wire or patch the oe, it's a good idea to run the wire through a switch hidden in the car, that way you can immobilise the car by flicking the switch when you want to...

The two immobilising relays inside the Sigma alarm don't seem very manly to me.

You cant buy a direct like for like replacement now but I think Cath at Advanced Autos sell ones with and adaptor.

That's interesting Terry as mine refused to start the other day and sorted itself out after I armed and disarmed the alarm a few times, I put it down to dirty relay contacts. Did you replace the relays yourself?

I managed to get hold of a like for like alarm unit off ebay and replaced the whole thing.
The relays are little circuit board ones so it should be possible to solder in replacements although a bit fiddly, to be honest I reckon a dodgy intermittent fuel immobiliser could cause big trouble if it caused it to run lean!
I was thinking of soldering more meaty relays in using cables to the circuit board and just mounting them near the alarm unit.
