Ginola is in the process of sorting a breakfast meet at a venue near Goodwood beforehand, which will link up nicely with this. Just waiting for details to be confirmed before he posted it up...

Not sure Steve.
As this is an all day thing it's normally leave when up and ready, no rush.
We normally end up down there about 11-11:30

Rdlangy1 25-02-2016 07:15 AM

Will check with Bug and confirm :ok: - 3hrs drive though so lets not make breakfast to early !!! PMSL !

What are they charging and what do they class as breakfast ?
Bearing in mind I will have 2 other mouths to feed that probably won't swallow anything that's called breakfast, but not as we know it.

I ask because we were going to have breakfast in 'The Shard', but what they call an English breakfast contains about 1 item they would eat....BACON and lots of fancy ****e that's not normal for most people, let alone for breakfast.

Steve_PPP 25-02-2016 10:09 PM

Just spoken to Dave - its a hotel so anything from their breakfast menu applies.

Edited..... checking details.... will update opening post once all details known :)

Ginola 25-02-2016 10:25 PM

I've amended the post above to include prices.

They will customise the breakfast to your individual requirements.

Can we amalgamate all of this into one neat post :D

Tell her Claire & Ellie are coming too ;) (i think they are anyway!). We'll only be at Goodwood until midday or 1pm-ish I expect as any more than that and Ellie will get the grumps!

Brave is an understatement... I think the conversation went something like... "we need to go to the next SES meet - its in March and has a breakfast and rally day thing" - "oh ok - yeah we missed last two so put us down" - "OK - have said yes, its the same day as your hair appointment" - "oh!" - "well ive said yes now, so we can't cancel :ok:" -

ha ha ha ha ha

I hope you are not that cruel! I think a meet and presents on the same day should happen every month, especially when it's plural!

Have you got a ratio of stages to time before Germany...

555_Si 09-03-2016 12:52 PM

Ideally stage 2 & 3 before Germany, but struggling with time and resource.

If I do stage 3 I run the risk or having to take the Merc if I fail to complete. If I don't do stage 2 I am wondering if it will make it. I do have a potential stage 2.1 that involves a slightly more temporary solution.

I must say that Rob, you have potentially helped with part of stage 3 as gets a lot of prep work sorted, just not sure how much I need to do, or how detailed I am going to be, I keep looking at Scott's car and thinking I need to up my game, then look, again and realise I am never going to get to that quality.

scotty 09-03-2016 01:22 PM

What scott lol easy to turn the rb into a minter if thats what you want as i final product .

Will do what ever I can to assist with getting stage 2 and 3 sorted by the time Germany comes around.

I think you could always look to get near to Scotts car but would have to accept a huge amount of time and money is potentially needed. You get the car to a decent place before Germany and I reckon you will love it enough to know exactly what you want to do to it and what direction to go.

We may be in the Legacy now - just thought I'd stick the battery conditioner on today as I've not used the car all week to be sure and the battery is totally dead and not taking any charge!
I need to try and get a new one today.

Ahh that's a bummer!

Fired mine up last night for the first time since the XMas Meal - was so weird driving her again this morning to work! I forgot how brutal that clutch was and how harsh the ride is compared to the Audi! ha ha

Hope you sort it, the scoob needs to see some daylight ;)

I went out into the garage last night to check on mine, central locking didn't even unlock it was so flat. It had a few hours charge last night and will get a few more hours this evening so should fire up ok. Really need to get a proper trickle charger.

I have one of these - had it over a year now:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/BC-Battery-C...ery+maintainer

It can be left on the car for upto 2yrs I believe.

Fantastic little device - my car has sat in the garage since Xmas meal - went out last night, un-clipped the maintainer - and she fired straight up :ok:

SpecB 11-03-2016 12:45 PM

I usually use the Halfords conditioner on mine but didn't connect it last weekend mine was the same this morning went out pressed the button, nothing! Plugged in the charger and it didn't even register that there was a battery connected!

555_Si 11-03-2016 02:09 PM

CTEK MXS 5.0 in my garage, about £60, does the trick nicely, has even brought back a deeply discharged battery after two reconditioning sessions, best money spent.

Going to get another one soon as I really could do with two, i got extension leads for it and run it under garage door to car on drive as well.

Rdlangy1 11-03-2016 02:39 PM

I wonder if anyone has ever left for a meat the night before it in the past? Glad you got there all ok, Arundel is a nice place.

The wake up call will need Dave and his exhaust for the full effect, you will hear him when he leaves home!

Rdlangy1 11-03-2016 05:55 PM

Pmsl :ok:

I can see Jo asking for her breakfast tea with extra hot water and then sneaking the hot water bottle out of her handbag

Steve_PPP 11-03-2016 10:07 PM

What a disappointment! Got to the circuit at 12.15 to find the gate shut - full to capacity! Hope you all had a great time. There were a lot of unhappy people at the gate, and a lot of frustration on the roads as people drove off again. Lots of nice cars about though..

That's a shame Keith.
It was the busiest we have ever seen it.
We arrived at 0940. When I went back to the car an hour later the people were hunting spaces.
The rest who arrived later were in the overflow car park.

Was a great day :ok:

Breakfast was great :-)

Glad to see everyone and weather was good to :ok:

Massive thankyou to Dave for the location of the breakfast meet, really great food..... highly recommend we go back there :ok:

American breakfast was lovely:more: and not over the top price wise either....

Great turn out today not only at Saywell but for SES members too:yeah: really good day:ok:

Nice to see CJ turn up for both Saywell and the breakfast..........:ok:

Same again for the next Saywell Day?

Yeah! Totally agree, was a great day all round.

Nice to see so many people and that some decent weather turned up too. Thanks for organising breakfast Dave and inviting us back to yours to play on the sim.

Will try and get some photos up soon if they turned out OK.

555_Si 12-03-2016 07:15 PM

Fantastic to see everyone. Thanks for letting me vent my cold issues. Had good run home, sold my interior from the bug and just caught Saj leaving JPP to pickup some whiteline parts.. So now I can get the rb5 handling sorted.

I won't be buying a kit car anytime soon, scooby is just fine [:)]

And lastly thank you to everyone for looking after Jo today, she really appreciated it.

Steve_PPP 12-03-2016 07:38 PM

Cracking day, and thanks to Dave for sorting breakfast out. It's fair to say we've definitely had cheaper breakfasts before but the quality of the food was spot on so can't complain.

Goodwood was packed, word certainly has got out about the Saywell days now. Was as many people wandering around as you see at the breakfast club meets. Sorry to hear you couldn't get in Keith, that's a right pain after your journey over :(

Hopefully see you all at the next SES meet in April :ok:

Wagon_Jo 12-03-2016 09:00 PM

Thanks to everyone for your help and support today. Totally under estimated how temperamental a kit car could be. Especially one that's not been used in 6 months. I think a new battery might be in order.

It's a very reassuring to have my own co pilot (Wanda), pit crew and support vehicles buzzing around.

Rdlangy1 12-03-2016 09:04 PM

More than welcome - awesome looking vehicle :ok:

Thank rob for his jump leads :ok: while si was helping the Evo :ok:

LauraBug 13-03-2016 07:50 AM

Hello Everyone!
Was lovely to see you all again yesterday, had a brilliant day, thankyou for letting me come along and join in. Was my first time seeing a racing track so was pretty exciting! Pictures all look brilliant too! Can't wait till next time, I'm now buzzing even more for Germany in a few months. Woo!

SpecB 13-03-2016 08:30 AM

Good to see you all again and may have made my mind up about what to do with the car!

Haha was so much fun. It was nice to have all of you staying with us on the journey from arundel to Goodwood. Even though you all had to go round the roundabouts three times to keep by us. Made us feel safe just in case she (meaning Tiger not Jo) decided to stop for a break on the hard shoulder.

I felt very honoured to be asked to be copilot and laughed all the way. Especially when the boys overtook us and we were in awe of the noise of the engines but then very quickly engulfed by fumes lol. We laughed none the less. Putting the handbrake on was a rather fruity occasion, good job I know you well Jo hehe xx

Thank you Jo and Simon Ps I hope you have thawed out by now 😊

Thank you organisers for a fun morning out and breakfast xx

Sounds like it was a good day but stumbled across this post on Pistonheads, did anyone else witness the guy in the black GTR, he seems to be turning up at events all over the place and causing problems.
