Personalised Plates...

Just thought I would see what everyone would have as a personalised plate if they could find it / afford it. Or whether you have one at present.

I have always wanted "L4 NGY" but have never managed to find it :-(

Ryan :ok:

scotty 02-03-2016 11:42 AM

P555 WRC for me .

NL03Scooby 02-03-2016 12:01 PM

I have always fancied SU03 ROB, as its in the standard format I would have thought reasonably priced, if it's exists. Never searched for it though.

Red Baron 02-03-2016 12:23 PM

Not on the DVLA page Rob, lots of variations but the U isn't there, SA SB SC SD etc but no SU.

SpecB 02-03-2016 12:39 PM

Quite happy with mine:

NX02 WRX

Nick's 02 WRX!

But that has got me thinking about adding
http://www.westcoastcorvette.com/ima...edium/3857.jpg

to give the NX real meaning!

Rdlangy1 02-03-2016 12:42 PM

Besides DVLA - anyone know how to check for a plate? Ive tried things like Eurocarparts and the reg doesn't come up.

I wonder how you can have plates requested - registered?

555_Si 02-03-2016 01:23 PM

I have RR03TWO on the Golf R32
T1RBV on the RB5
and eyeing up SM51MAC for my Merc (Simon Mac)

also in the family is KAY4K and C4NOE, guess what the business does :-)

if they have not been released by DVLA before then I think you can express interest in a number which they then put to one of their auctions.

scotty 02-03-2016 01:55 PM

Guy around the corner from me has "1 CIA" but its on a volkswagon camper van ! Although he also has a Brabus 6.3 Merc with "2 CIA". :ok:

Red Baron 02-03-2016 03:06 PM

There was a black Countach LP5000 that used to run around Hastings with the reg A6GRO, font used for the 6 made it look more like AGGRO. Friend had L9TUS on his Lotus Carlton, unfortunately the guy he sold it to had an argument with a tree.

555_Si 02-03-2016 07:03 PM

i can only hope for RB5 then?

Banstead Stig 02-03-2016 08:32 PM

I've never really found one that would suit me. Closest I've found is GKH111.

I almost bought one for my son (he's four!), E111OT H.

I once saw was an Audi RS4 with the plate F46GOT. Curious to know who owned it. Either a very confident gay man, an employee of Brains pork products or a horrific bigot.

Whichever, quite a bold plate!

MIDLIFE 02-03-2016 08:33 PM

I have S8 ECC. If spaced differently and a carefully placed fixing bolt it could look S8EC C (SPEC C).

Rdlangy1 02-03-2016 08:36 PM

I hope dvla email me back tomorrow - Intruiged to see if mine can be made available etc been wanting that plate since I was 17! Ha ha

That car came to a meet many years ago. I'll dig out the picture.

Red Baron 03-03-2016 07:53 AM

Think Dave came to some of the Sussex Scoobies meets with Scott many years ago, the Carlton was sold quite a while ago, he's had a Holden Commodre, Monaro and now a 6 series convertible. The number plate is now registered to a 1998 1.8 Lotus so guess it's on an Elise now.

I'd already written of my first motorbike by the time you were born and E had written off a Chariot.

Red Baron 03-03-2016 07:48 PM

That was him, at one point there were 2 of them in the garage as his father in law had one as well. They've sold them both and moved now so none in the area.

munk 03-03-2016 07:57 PM

crazy how a car like that can stick in your mind for so long!! was the first one id ever seen must easily be ten years ago??

Red Baron 03-03-2016 08:20 PM

I remember when he bought it, we were all meeting in Sainsburys car park to head off for Scotts stag night, I saw the Lotus Carlton and thought it was really nice, never expected Dave to get out of it. He had it for a long time, must have been late 90s, think it replaced a 3 litre Carlton GSI and was his daily driver for quite a while.

It was, though some of us had met up at Bentley at a Porsche owners meeting the previous June.
