UK Call Centre ISP

Anyone know of one ?
Really loosing my will to live with TalkTalk.

Had no email for a week and seem to go round the same scripted responses on every call. Once you go off-piste they seem to switch off, and probably don't understand a word of my English, they then go back to their little script once you stop talking.

If I've lost my email account I will walk for sure, as that's the only reason I've stayed with them with my legacy Tiscali email for so long.

PlusNet - not just UK but Yorkshire!

I've never had problems with BT, yeah I pay a premium, but due to work I can't afford downtime, plus my house is quite dependent on net connectivity. Been with them for over 5 years, don't even know where call centre is as never rang them.

ZEN Internet + Fibre are uk based and small/personal service also do hosting etc etc.

Vodafone are as bad. The most appalling customer service if have experienced for a long time. They'll say anything to get you off the phone. We have 4 Vodafone accounts in our house and all of them will be changed at the end of the contracts.

Zen is who i advise all the small businesses we look after to go with as their customer service is excellent, and also rolling month on month contract if you wish

Another shout out for Plusnet, been with them since day one, unlimited fibre, phone and YouView for £32 a month plus any calls outside of the evening/weekend package

Totally agree, absolute rubbish, will be gone when the contract is up :ok:

Use zen at work, we are potentially ditching them aswell as vodafone.

Used to use Zen as my ISP about 10 years ago, but left as they weren't as cost effective on higher speed tariffs when broadband started ramping up over the old days of 512kb/1Mb download! But their service was always excellent in those days.

Generally the bigger the business gets, the worse the support gets. Sky are pretty shocking too. On BT Infinity 2 now, touch wood i've not had to phone them with any problems... yet.

Are BT uk.
Talktalk always end up referring out the BT Openreach network support team (who I can't get to talk too) is it like Gas and Electricity where we just deal with the billing centre and the whole infrastructure is still run by British Gas, British Telecom etc.....etc....

Rdlangy1 12-05-2016 07:18 AM

BT infinity 2 for me :ok:

bt provide inifinity or whatever to end user. The actual service underlying it is provided by BT Openreach wholesale, they provide many ISP's as this is BT's infrastructure. Some ISP's use parts of BT copper/fibre network and then have the own kit allocated in the exchange/cabinet, which then usually still runs across the BT 30+ year old copper to your house.

While I don't think it is supposed to happen, I imagine if you are with BT, they carry more clout when they need Openreach to fix an issue.

I think too many people these days look at price, but expect the best service as well, too many people i have known over the years have fallen into this trap with Talk Talk.

When looking at anything you have to weigh up the costs v service you expect and in business the SLa's and support you get. I will quite happily pay over the odds to have the best service I can get for my needs. Yes I can get broadband a lot cheaper elsewhere, and recently have thought about moving, but I am concerned I was loose my faultless service I have had.

Also Scott, concerning email moving forward, I have got several domain names, i then create an email address with one of these domain names and just forward it to my current email host, then if I move i can just repoint my email address. I am sure you already know about this, but just in case. I know the horse has bolted already if you have lost your email.
