Hi everyone

I'm looking for my 1st scooby and at the ripe old age of 50 it's never to late to be a boy racer ha ha ha or a petrol head as I've always been

Got 7-7.5k to spend but I'm only looking for a STI blob eye (scooby blue with gold wheels) as I just don't care for the bug eye look yuk yuk yuk but that's my taste and hope I don't offend any owners as taste is taste.

I'm in no rush and I no what I want and I'm willing to sit tight till the right one comes along as I've been and done the panic buy only to regret it later and I suppose age as something to do with me being a bit more picky in what I'm after.

Right enough of the waffle

Hello and welcome to SES, blob Sti is a good choice, a Widetrack version would be a wise move if you can find a good one in your price bracket (2005>).

You're not as old as some people on here

If I was in the market for another one I'd certainly be looking at a blob STI unless I could find a really clean bug (looks aren't everything, just as well in my case).

Good luck with your search. I didn't get my first Scoob until I was in my mid-40s, so a few of us were late starters. Mind you, that was nearly 17 years ago! And I'm by no means the oldest on here.

Widetrack blob a good choice if you have the budget.

With the right front Grille and a set of STI lights the Bug-eye isn't actually 'that' ugly! A std WRX front end on the other hand!

If you can find a good prodrive Bugeye it should hold its value quite well as well.

Fairladyzx66 20-05-2016 07:02 PM

Now that looks really really nice and im impressed honest.

Agree the stock wrx bug eye is fugly as hell but ive looked at a few sti versions and im liking what im seeing :-)

You never no I could be converted to the bug eyed side after all my slander earlier on ha ha

What do you think guys as ive just brought this absolutely stunning scooby and trust me the pictures do not do this car justice and the interior is just as lush aa the outside :-)

Oh and the good thing is I've got a 5 hour journey home so we can get to no each other and to say im excited is a blinking understatement guys.

Will sort some more pics out later and now best I concentrate on what I'm doing and where im heading or I could end up in Scotland lol

Frenchie 22-05-2016 03:47 PM

Mmm nice looking car

Rdlangy1 22-05-2016 04:04 PM

Oh look..............a bug! Ha ha ha

Joking apart it looks mint and very tidy! Congrats and be sure to pop along to a meet soon :ok:

SpecB 22-05-2016 04:21 PM

Get choice, the S202 grille is imho the best grille for the bugeye.

Now for the decision - fog light covers or not?

NL03Scooby 22-05-2016 04:29 PM

Nice work, that looks lovely, really good choice, nice wheels and Defi gauges too do I see?

Steve_PPP 22-05-2016 04:50 PM

Nice purchase there, looks in great condition :ok:

Not seen that style of splitter before with the indentation along the centre on a bugeye, looks good.

iPond 22-05-2016 06:10 PM

Welcome and looks like a nice scoob you ended up with

The bugs definitely a grower, really disliked them right up until the day I ended up buying one!

Fairladyzx66 22-05-2016 07:19 PM

Thanks guys she is (A BUG BUG BUG BUG) very nice and taking a bit of getting used to :-)
Just washed her today as she was filthy from the trip but looking good I might add.

To me the blue is a tad darker on the actual car which is an added bonus I can tell u :-)

Thanks again for the messages guys I feel privileged as a complete noob..

As for covers NO

Could change my mind as I like that look but we are all different and have different tastes but u can never rule anything out

Thanks Rdlangy

I no we had a bit of banter over the fugly bug eye but I must admit I'm taken by it big time and don't no if it's the added splitter at the bottom but it really works on the car.

It's in very good condition but has a few marks here and there which are age related which I really hate that term for them lol as I've been looking for a while now and it's age related marks here and age related marks there and why don't they say it's got a few stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet which mine has and oh it's got a little blemish here and there and I little light scratch as mine has and being a darker colour it shows but only close up.

The interior is what impresses me as its near on flawless and with the added defi gauges and the box of tricks that goes with it and a nice turbo timer that adjust to how long the engine needs to shut off and has a mode to change it to for battery voltage/RPM 0-60 timer which I doubt will ever be used and it might have a few more things but can't remember off the top of my head.

Thanks mate and to be perfectly honest that really sold it to me as in it being a bug eye which I wasn't keen on at all but that splitter makes the car IMO oh and the speedlines oh and the colour blue lmao :-)

Not sure if you mis-read or if i'm mis-reading now.... but bluebugeye was saying you have the s202 grill on your car now (rather than it would look good with one). :)
