Be nice to attend in my own car this year, better get my boot lid sorted too.

No better location to walk around looking at cars when the weather is good.

May be worth nudging Sean for this event too Ryan, I am sure he can find some Datsun's to park with...

Rdlangy1 15-06-2016 12:57 PM

Great Day

Hi
Got room for a wr1 again , had a great day last year:nod:

Scott.T 02-07-2016 12:27 PM

Anyone else interested as I will have to forward numbers over in a couple of weeks.

I know this is a fair distance but it is a great value event allowing you to enjoy everything the motor museum has on offer.
Last year we also finished around 3:30pm so was able to enjoy a couple of hours touring the New Forest and a visit to Meridian Ferrari in Lyndhurst.

Update from the Organisers :

Hi Scott,

Thank you for your email. We will book you in for a space for 12 cars. We will have a club entrance open from 8am which is the other side of Beaulieu Village off the B3054. The signs for this will be “Simply Japanese Additional Entrance”.

We are asking for clubs to use this where possible, the other entrance will not open until 9am. We are asking for clubs to arrive by 9.30am so we can park you on your club stands.

Kind regards,

Scott.T 22-07-2016 02:55 PM

Another update from the venue, which begs the question....do we take the Gazebo ?

Good Afternoon Scott

Hoping you are well?

I just thought I would drop you a very quick email regarding the Simply Japanese event at Beaulieu and the plans for clubs. Firstly I have attached a basic window pass for you guys. Can I ask if members can have this displayed in their windows when they arrive then it will help our stewards direct everyone to right area.

As much as possible we are asking if clubs can be with us from between 8am-9am. Since opening the event to clubs we have noticed the length of queues are pretty long so to combat this we are trying to get you guys in a bit earlier. If this is do-able from your side then can I ask that you use the back entrance to Beaulieu on the B3054. When you get close to Beaulieu this will be signposted ‘additional entrance’. The main visitor entrance won’t be open until 9am so please don’t arrive at this entrance.

We have 54 clubs booked in and that is over 900 cars so we are hoping getting you in a bit earlier will lessen your queuing time and also help us park more efficiently. The exact layout of where clubs are parking will be done in the days leading up to the event and all club members will handed a map upon entry.

Gazebo’s – Quite important. If you are planning on bringing a Gazebo then can you let me know in advance as this will affect where we place you. I’m asking this because we don’t allow Gazebo’s in the museum area of the event (event fields are fine). This worked well at our similar sized Simply Ford event back in May

If you have any questions then please do get in touch.

Hmm.... I'm not too fussed either way. Would definitely be nice to be in the main area rather than the fields but its not exactly far out to walk either. If the weather was guaranteed to be like last year, then leave the gazebo at home. If it rains, we might want it :)

How late do you reckon we can leave it before notifying them if we want to bring it, mid-week? Might give us a clue from the forecast by then.

Rdlangy1 22-07-2016 03:35 PM

As per Steve - its not too far to walk to the exhibits e.t.c. - and so long as the weather is good, we should be fine...

Scott.T 23-07-2016 09:38 AM

If it's wet Gazebo keeps you dry, it it's hot it's a nice bit of shade.
Although the main area did have good tree cover.

I suppose we can tell them we won't have one, but take it, and then if they stick us in the field, anyway, we can use it.

Scoob will be sporting a nice scuff on the front bumper and splitter, hit the wall getting it out the garage yesterday

For those that have been to my place, you might have seen how tight it is to get out the garage. Misjudged it by about two inches :angst:

Ouch...! I remember clipping the gate reversing my blue car in to the garden at my parents. A manoeuvre I had done hundreds of times, it's so easy to judge it wrong one occasion and end up feeling pretty frustrated!

Your garage certainly isn't kind to those who would get it even slightly wrong.

Rdlangy1 25-07-2016 05:14 AM

Ahh that's not good fella - sorry to hear that... Badly or something that can be buffed?

Steve_PPP 25-07-2016 08:16 AM

Didn't look too close, got the strop with it and put it away

Pretty sure its well beyond buffing, it might improve it a bit (at the ends of the scrape where its shallower) but probably not worth trying. Will take a closer look on Saturday when I give it a wash for Beaulieu.

Steve_PPP 28-07-2016 11:40 PM

Scott, whats the latest? shall I bring the gazebo or not... ? I'd rather not drag it along if we're definitely going in the main area, but worth it for the field...

Scott.T 29-07-2016 09:21 AM

I told them we won't have one. But they could stick us in the field anyway.
I'll leave it as your call and dependant on the weather on the day.

Crap, I'd forgotten about that bloody race! We don't get as trapped as you, but it limits our movements!

Home!

Crappy drive home but what a great day :ok:

Weather was great, loads of amazing cars to see and the museum was as good as ever!

As always big thanks to Wanda for bringing supplies and it was good to meet new faces (Sam's partner - sorry I'm useless with names!!! )...

cant wait to see everyone's pics!

Ryan :ok:

NL03Scooby 31-07-2016 07:45 PM

Great day, feeling pretty knackered now after a day walking around in the sun but it's a good event with loads of cars to look at.

Club stand looked great with very clean and tastefully modded Scoobs, good work everyone!

Thanks for organising the club spot with the organisers Scott and thank you Wanda for the tasty drinks and treats.

Will post up some pictures once I sort through them.

SamSTI 31-07-2016 07:53 PM

Cracking day today! Me and Nancy had a lovely day.

Thanks for organising Scott and thanks Wanda for the lovely good and drink.
Thanks Rob and Ryan for the cleaning tips too.

Got lost on way home but saw some lovely sites lol :)

Steve_PPP 31-07-2016 07:53 PM

Assume you went up the M3/M25 Ryan? Traffic was crappy going along to Brighton as well, took about 20 mins to get around Arundel.

Still, great day out. Weather was perfect (not stupid hot enough to get fried but nice and warm), loads of good cars in a great venue. Thanks to Wanda for the coffee and strawberries/cream, was very nice :ok:

And how the hell does Scotty find a photo of us halfway through the day from the other end of the country, did someone post it on facebook??

Ginola 31-07-2016 08:00 PM

Good to see everyone today nice day out and some nice machinery on display :)

Scotty is a warrior ;)

Seanedg 31-07-2016 08:12 PM

Home, save and sound kids are completely shattered
Nice to hear everyone got home ok.
Good old M25, loads of traffic, my leg is killing me now, racing clutch in traffic don't mix.
Hope to see you all soon.
Thanks Wanda for the food and drinks.

Thank you all for coming. I'm glad you all enjoyed the day.
As usual the SES club line up looked tidy with a nice clean set of cars.
Thanks Wanda for the coffee, cake, strawberries, cream and meringue. It's nice when we can return to the SES gazebo for some shade a graze and a chat.

I know its a long hall down there but the drive through the forest makes it a great day, especially seeing the ponies and Samuel making friends with a baby donkey in Lyndhurst.

See you all at the next one.
