By chance has anyone got a set lying around .

Red Baron 31-05-2016 03:33 PM

Euro Car Parts should be able to supply standard rubber ones, I'd do them as a pair though. What has it been rubbing on? I've recently twisted my fronts through 180 degrees to sit behind the strut as they were rubbing on the front wheels on full lock.

Steve_PPP 31-05-2016 04:11 PM

I'm pretty sure I've got a set of spare Goodridge braided lines that I removed when fitting the ksport kit a few years ago (it came with its own).

But they're down here...

Ginola 31-05-2016 04:48 PM

Grab a standard one from euro.. glad that didn't happen while on the road..

make sure you re-adjust the clip on the coilover so it can't chaff again. (worth checking the other side too).

be careful changing the line also as you do not want to damage the thread on the pipe, changing the passenger side one of those = engine out most of the time.

scotty 31-05-2016 05:16 PM

Ordered on from euro picking it up tomorrow morning got the caliper end off but how the feck you get the other end off cant get a spanner in the top and bottom seems dodgey mmmmm thinking cap on lol HELP

Ginola 31-05-2016 05:20 PM

Don't take it all off until ready to replace as you will get dirt and crap in there, make sure you've got a litre of brake fluid as
You'll need to fully bleed the system, vid link for you. ... Be gentle! :)

who ever fitted your braided lines originally wants punching, or whoever fitted the coilovers and re-attached the brake lines.

Right problem then cant undo the nut the brake pipe and pipe looks like its been cut as theres a clean inserions on the plastic inner pipe and drivers side is perfect so cant moan at the garage as they have done the work it was fine yesterday strange one indeed .

Ginola 31-05-2016 06:50 PM

Brakes

It looks like (from the pic) it has chafed on the coilover strut where the pipe is not fitted correctly, turn the wheel lock to lock to see it

scotty 31-05-2016 07:25 PM

Its the rear brake anyway i gave it a good sprayed left it for a while then went back started to loosen it with a jentle touch happy days then fecking brake pipe snapped right below the nut all corrioded basicaly game over thats a big job feck no's where the join is if there is one looks like im going no where .

Red Baron 31-05-2016 07:31 PM

Theres a manifold type thing where the 2 pipes drop through the floor under the seat, just needs a new line run from there to the caliper, if it's bad on both sides of the manifold put a join under the back seat.

scotty 31-05-2016 07:48 PM

Mmm thats garage job to me .

Red Baron 31-05-2016 08:07 PM

Yeah, will be I'm afraid it is unless you have the tools, took Jonny about 4 hours to do mine on both sides.

scotty 31-05-2016 08:12 PM

Nope dont have the tools got the other side done by big rich in canterbury a day before the last trip

Red Baron 31-05-2016 08:22 PM

Which side is it, bet it's the awkward passenger side that goes over the tank.

Yup .

Red Baron 31-05-2016 08:47 PM

I know it's not what you want to hear but I'd strongly recommend checking the condition of the steel pipe that comes through from under the seat, there is a plastic coating over most of it but they corrode in that small gap where the plastic coating ends and the union that joins the little manifold, mine looked ok but sheared as soon as we put a spanner near them.

scotty 31-05-2016 10:18 PM

What side is the pipe work on under the seat as i think i have a plan .

Red Baron 31-05-2016 10:37 PM

Pop the rear seat base out and it's on the drivers side, pipes run through the car and then drop down under the seat.

Red Baron 31-05-2016 10:41 PM

There's no join there, think it's a single piece from under the bonnet to under the back of the car.

Just found that out was going to take it off to get one made the same but feck that and lifted the rubber gromet there both still in exellent condtion at that point but feck no's what condition it is under the car apart from the twat end lol .

Red Baron 31-05-2016 11:06 PM

It disconnects under the car just after where the pipe drops down, you probably won't get it out without dropping the tank.
