6R4.net Track Day 2016 – Curborough
 

Last year I was fortunate enough to get an invite to the inaugural 6R4.net track day. After posting a few pictures in 2015, they very kindly invited me back again for this years event.

After a cloudy start the weather continually improved throughout the morning… and then it pissed down! That didn’t stop the flow of cars on track though, and the rain made for some interesting viewing.

There seemed to be a lot more enthusiastic driving this year, though Mark Holmes was unquestionably the king of big slides: I don’t think he did a single run without at least one big sideways moment!

With no real break in the action on circuit, I rather lost track of time and therefore didn’t get a chance to go sniffing round the paddock for a passenger ride. One of the owners spotted me trackside though and gave me a shout to jump in…

Yeah, really good little meet. It's a shame it's not open to the public, as it would be great for other people to experience: but then if they made it an open day, I think it would really change the atmosphere.

It does seem to have a much tighter knit community than the other Group B cars. The fact it a UK car probably helps, but it's not often you see other Group B cars so regularly gathered in such high numbers (especially at such a low key event).

Great pics! Looks like a really cool event with some classic beasts on display.

Loving the rs200 and the 6r4's look great!

It was nice to see them on display and being given a thrashing on track!
