And now the Spec B is gone too!

On it's way today to it's new home in Scotland, after 12 years of ownership. Bought by an enthusiast who has owned one before and regretted selling his.

I think I shall regret it too!

But it gets hardly used nowadays, so all for the best.

Only one half-Subaru left now. Toyotas are everywhere..............

That's a shame Keith but nice that it has gone to another enthusiast. What have you replaced it with for everyday driving?

Frenchie 28-01-2017 11:49 AM

Agree with Steve, real shame.

SUBARMAN 28-01-2017 01:45 PM

Hi Steve.

One of these! In black as per photo. Collect early March.

Very nice :ok:

Scott.T 28-01-2017 02:45 PM

Is that a Toyota...I've no idea what it is to be honest.
It looks like a cross between a Duke and a Lexus ?

Banstead Stig 28-01-2017 03:33 PM

It's a C-HR isn't it... are they hybrids...?

There is a man who knows his stuff!

Yes - hybrid ! From a 3 litre petrol to a hybrid. Could have had 1.2 turbo petrol, but the hybrid is just as quick.

There are plans!

Looks interesting Keith. Must admit I was in the same boat as Scott, didn't know what it was. Got some big flared arches there...they really stand out on the silver stanced model you posted :)

Sad news indeed Keith. Saw Julia out in it fairly recently. Know how you feel though, it's just a mixture of inertia and not wanting to miss out on its gradual increase in rarity that keeps me from selling the T25. Don't like driving it, been spoilt by the Merc doing everything for me!

Unfortunately the C-HR is another one that does everything for you. We must be getting old Phil!!

XRS 29-01-2017 03:56 PM

You're not wrong there Keith.

That C-HR looks like an interesting bit of kit. I'll be interested to see what you do with it.

Been looking at c-hr for Jo but we were both less than impressed with performance of hybrid. The loud pedal was just that, made the engine noisier not faster.

What a shame. Was the car in ECO mode or SPORT mode? Makes a big difference to pick up. We are pleasantly surprised by the performance, and we are used to a supercharger. Hope you find something suitable

Banstead Stig 02-03-2017 08:30 PM

That's a good looking driveway.

I think the C-HR is a really pleasing bit of design.

Rdlangy1 02-03-2017 08:35 PM

Very smart retro looking motor :ok:

I think i'll go back to dealers and have another drive, as we really did want to get one, it ticked a lot of boxes for us.

Thanks Keith.

Thanks Keith.

Happy to take you for a spin Si, to see if ours feels the same.

XRS 03-03-2017 02:42 PM

So when do the mods start Keith? Or have they already started ;)

Granby 03-03-2017 02:57 PM

Think that is a very Marmite car, now if they did a V8 hybrid :-D

Thanks Keith but going to go to a dealer again and see if i can give it a bit more of a test drive. Been looking at brochure again this afternoon and the Excel seems to have everything we need.

Ginola 04-03-2017 12:56 AM

That is a nice looking stable you have there Keith :)

SUBARMAN 05-03-2017 05:38 PM

Thanks Dave.

It comes already modded, Phil!

Marmite it is, Ian!

Si, just done 230 miles in it this weekend. Lot of roundabouts round Horsham, lot of joining motorways via slip roads. Kept up with everything except an M3 Beemer. Still managed 61mpg. Spent a lot of time in the outside lane. :-D

We drove a polo dsg gti and a Pug 3008 today and impressed with both, but after mentioning your comments Jo has decided to revisit the C-HR tomorrow, thanks for you help Keith.

SUBARMAN 06-03-2017 10:05 AM

It will be a very different driving experience to a diesel. Jo may still not like it, I fear.

If you want the power, you get it by combining the petrol and the electric motors. It is the electric that gives the instant acceleration from a standing start.

Try going quick round a roundabout if you want to experience the excellent weight transfer and go fast down a twisty B road to appreciate how well it handles.
