Decisions decisions

Going to get the car professionally resprayed and can't decide if I do it as it is or bite the bullet and go super wide 22b !
Thoughts ?

PalmerWRX 05-02-2017 06:56 PM

It has to be 22b

I'd go 22B although it could end up looking like a gobstopper replica - which is not necessarily a bad thing!

Banstead Stig 05-02-2017 07:15 PM

I wouldn't.

Your car has its own style, which is a real positive.

If you make it a 22B wannabe it'll just be a poor impersonation and lose its identity in my opinion.

That might sound harsh, but I know you're not someone I need to mince my words with!

MSR2012 05-02-2017 07:32 PM

22B for sure!

Rdlangy1 05-02-2017 08:38 PM

Gotta say I like it as it is :ok:

Unique

Hongkongfooi 05-02-2017 09:00 PM

it'll look good either way:ok:

BIG"E" 05-02-2017 09:05 PM

Leave it as it is..

Little update
The kit is 60mm wider each side than a standard classic not the 35mm a 22b is .
Nothing is in stone at the moment but I'm leaning towards the super wide kit and a completely opposite colour to the car is currently.
Thanks for the input it's much appreciated.

Whats not to like about a fat boy classic. Looks a hunckered down driving machine:

Got to admit the superwide looks awsome, that snap above is sexy

It'll be wider than that ;)
Down side to afford it I'll be off the road for a year possibly!

Frenchie 10-02-2017 07:51 AM

Love the pic, and yes it's an amazing build idea for the R CJ : ).
That being said, I love your car it is too - and having thought previously about the wide build too on my white one, I ended up keeping it as it was after much thought. Wide is cool, but your car as it sits is a fantastic and timeless look. If you really want to do it and are looking for something to do to take it to the next level then go ahead, but otherwise I would keep it (and drive it for the next year too!!).

Update I'm going to just respray it as is . Started by respraying the boot and new spoiler

I do like the WR spoiler, you did well to find one or is Si's RB5 looking a little naked at the rear.

stonejedi 12-03-2017 06:49 AM

Car looks Superb:doubleup:.SJ.

Lol there has been that joke on my project page on Facebook.
I got it of a guy who crashed his car in Essex, did a deal with a friend who picked up and swopped for a P1 spoiler

How about just doing some cutting and blending of the ABW arches. Cut them on the bumper line and blend onto the bumpers then blend out the mounting screws and join on the bodywork sections.

I hate the way these ABW on classic and Newage just overlap the bumpers. But the stance/width looks great.

Scott.T 12-03-2017 09:06 AM

Nice PD spoiler BTW

Problem is if you blend them in it'll be an arse if they get damaged, instead of bolt off bolt on simplicity.
