Advise on prodrive blob eye

Hi guys hope I've put this in the right place.
I've recently sold my blob eye sti as wanted to put some money into the house saving pot (nearly cried when it left😢) any way looking to spend between £4000-£5000 on a blob wrx.
I'm not finding it easy to find a good one I'm after a silver this time now I've found one on eBay with the ppp on it this should stop me spending on exhaust and remaping lol as in std they are a tad slow haha. The plan is not to spend too much on it or defeats the object

Anyway here's one I'm thinking of looking at what's people thoughts?

Looks nice and clean and appears to be well looked after. It's difficult to tell really. Ask as many questions as you feel need answering and if you're happy, arrange to go and view it.

Like you say seems all ok and spoke to the guy he said it had new timing belt last year and brakes. Thinking of going to view it on the weekend

I'm a bit puzzled, it looks like a blobeye and has the 2 litre engine but the year is listed as 2007, it was registered in Sept 2006 and the reg is 56, which should make it a hawk. Or am I missing something?

Having been there and done the buying the WRX thing - it could be a false economy as you may end up throwing £100s at it to make it not quite as good as an actual STI!

100% agree with Nick, unless you're really sure you will be happy with WRX power buy an STI and save a lot of money.

Agreed - especially if you have had STi power before - you will be disappointed with a WRX and always striving to get to what you had before...

Ryan :ok:

Ryan :ok:

It's not going to be easy no as loved my 322bhp sti but tbf I rearly drive it flat out and prob not good idea with the new speed penaltys! Not just that I have to use it every day and was getting on my nerves as have to park on side of road at work and car keeps getting hit etc and the wheels have picked up stone chips after being done only in September!

So I want something cheaper and the wrx falls in price range and I think it's still a great car

There where some blobs registered very late and into 2007. They changed on a 55 plate generally. The same happened when the hawk changed over in 2007, there are some 08 plates about.

The type r is abit more special than a normal sti tho? And I don't want it to turn in to another project lol was gutted when the sti went and and worried I will end up trying to make a wrx an sti lol

Anyway went to view the car today and walked away after giving an offer on it he said no too. The car was dirty dents needs new bonnet and wheels curbed heavily! So back to the drawing bored haha
