Hammerite one is easier to apply and brush on and available from halfords.
The tetrosyl one is too thick to paint.

Going to Honda this weekend to collect a new bumper ion as mine is oddly crud.
Then i can re put it all back together.

Red Baron 22-09-2017 10:38 AM

What did you use in the end?

scooby doo 22-09-2017 10:56 AM

Alot of Swearing lol.

No i used wire wheel in a drill (YUK), then treated areas with K-rust as this i primer and good to use on the bare metal like the box sections as honda didn't underseal these areas so i rubbed them all back to make sure was good, left for 24hrs
zinc primer the whole under neath, couple hours left.
hammertie stone guard (this stuff goes rock hard when cured)
then satan black for colour,
all left alone for 24hrs at least to go off.
will inspect later on before start assembling

That looks better than factory finished!!! And much better than I imagine mine will look when its done!

Cheers would of looked better if white but I've had white under neath and it just bugs my OCD when gets dirty so end up washing the bottom as much as the top ,
Only advice I have is take as much as poss that unbolts and take your time , good couple of days is needed, I've just inspected it and the paint is rock hard now ,

Thanks, I'll keep the copper grease handy then! Always worried about unbolting things from underneath the car since I sheared the ball joint retaining bolt. I'll see if I can get it up on the ramp at my Mums work :)

If it's clean enough , you can just wash it down , mask some compinents and blow over it all , that's how most importers do it , but I wanted to get to the chassis as had practically zero underseal
