Track Day Oil Temp

I did a track day last week at brands, which was wicked fun.

Just wondering what sort of oil Temps people get up to. as after about 5 hard laps was touching 120-130 degrees!

Running 10w 40 fully synthetic.

Cheers

Normally top out around 115C, that was on a 24C day a couple months back. If pushed really hard they can reach the temps you are seeing, but you will start to degrade the oil if running those temps for long, it also raises concerns over the oils ability to do the important job it has to do. If it’s a regular issue maybe looking into an oil cooler set up is a safe bet, I would also advise an oil change in the near future.

That’s excellent and your hard work and time spent has certainly paid off. I hit 93 just through spirited driving/squirts on the road!

110-120 on mine. Defi gauge with sensor above No.3
Can get close to 110 on the road

Mine normally stays around 90 but as everyone knows I drive like an old lady lol

You'll be wanting a cooler, I would be changing that oil out after hitting 130, Very warm that is.

I see around 110 nowday's with a cooler driving flat out round brands (totally flat out with lots of revs!)

80/105 on the road is normal (with the cooler blocked off)

don't skimp though get a good quality one.
