Fluids - Time - Deterioration

So my question this evening is do oils / brake fluid's deteriorate over time.

I have some Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid from my old S3 probably 2 years old - should I still use it or get some new? Is unopened.

Same question of oil - My scoob has only done 500 mile since last service but that was over a year ago now. I my mind the oil is pretty fresh but is it?

Any chemical engineer types on here?

No expert... but I'd say if the brake fluid is still sealed it should be fine? I certainly wouldn't use an open bottle if it had been left for that time though.

Engine oil.... it'll be fine at a year old. You need to use it more if you've only done 500 miles in a year :D

I’m no expert but i wouldn’t have an issue using the brake fluid if not opened. That super blue stuff was good value for money.

Oil i would personally change unless left in a warm garage as i would have thought you would get condensation forming in engine and sump if left standing which would mix with oil. I am no expert though and for me a £50 oil change is better than risking it in my eyes.
