Engine rebuild....

Evening gents, looking for some advice please. My wrx engine is on the way out and it’s going to need a bottom end rebuild. There’s a bit of movement in the crankshaft and a bit of piston slap too. The plan is to fix it and sell. Who would you recommend to do the work and roughly what will it cost. Not looking to upgrade this car anymore, want to sell and buy an sti. Many thanks.

Probably cheaper to drop a second hand short block in it, must be plenty out there for a WRX

Totally Agree,if you was looking to keep it for the long run then the added expense of a fresh rebuild for longevity is the way to go,,,just find a good working second hand engine from a reliable seller and drop it in...Job done.SJ.

Thanks for the advice. Can you recommend anyone fairly local to Brighton who can do the work?

Have you tried SMD in Newhaven, the guys there may even be able to source you a short motor?

No, will give them a try. I’ve always used Stuart at sussex mobile but I’m guessing he’s really busy at the mo as I can’t contact him.

Can't recommend SMD enough, speak to Brent.
