drive shaft seal

Rite I have a speed 6 not sure if that matters I have a leak on the gearbox drivers drive shaft seal. Is it simply pop the shaft out take the seal out and tap the new one in. And does the seal need to bottom out to the gearbox housing. I know when ordering the parts they are sided and cheap from Subaru any advice would be great . Google has videos seems straight forward
