Any Tumble Dryer Engineers out there ?
Hotpoint TDL30P
Ours has started stalling when changing from clockwise to anticlockwise rotations (it's OK when going from anticlockwise to clockwise). Assumed it was belt, so had a look today and it seemed OK after a fiddle and clean of the belt. But as soon as it was fully back together again, it done the same. I then took the belt off and ran it and it still stalled/stopped on the transition from Clockwise to Anticlockwise. The motor/drum slows right down as if it is going to change direction, but doesn't unless you give it a helping hand. You can also turn the dryer off/on at this point and it resumes and runs OK, until the next clockwise to anticlockwise transition. The worry is, when it stalls the motor & fan are barely moving the air through and that cools the heater element, so the element then glows red hot and could be a fire hazzard. Any clues ? As I have ruled out the belt, me now thinks it could be motor or motor brushes. |
at a complete guess and because it works with a bit of help, I would suggest the capacitor is on its way out?
or perhaps it just needs a map tweak:whistle: |
Diode leak maybe
I take it its one motor for both directions? |
Obviously needs a remap. :doubleup::getmecoat:

Worth a try as only £3.50 and have already ripped the old one out. Will give it a map on the hot cycle to see if I can get it to flow a bit more air. |
