Curious Crowman
Well here you are Martyn. Here is a taster.
Here are all three "live" Vulcans (taxi-able or flying) in one place. XL426 has had a visit from the Wagon Sqn. XM655 will have a visit from SES next year. And XH558 will hopefully be still flying. But I have them all in one place. Oh, and XL321 in white livery was sadly broken up in 1983. So it's a ghost! I have made all the buildings and now need to lay out the grass in a different fashion to make a dispersal pan (awaiting the turf specialist). Then plan final positioning of the buildings (awaiting Council planning dept). The vehicles will need repainting in airforce grey once I've got a few more (awaiting the auctioneer and vehicle paint specialist). http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...Picture119.jpg Of course, I am using the services of Wagon Squadron's finest, F Off Krud Simpleton, to ensure authenticity!! Julia does enjoy the deafening sound of four Olympus engines as I fly XL321 round the bedroom of an evening. And here is next week's project. This one is 1:72 scale so will need another set of buildings and vehicles. Already got a nissen hut and fire tender - so it's somewhere for the fire crew to keep out of the weather, and the fire tender is in case the adhesive catches fire. I am quite mad! Please note the Vulcan appeal http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...cture117-3.jpg |
What a legend you really are! :10:
and as for this comment: "Julia does enjoy the deafening sound of four Olympus engines as I fly XL321 round the bedroom of an evening." I can actually believe you do it!:whistle: |

Sammi. This is 1:144 (N guage) for which it is more difficult to get vehicles and buildings.
Don't get me started on railways! Toot toot! Need a room for scalextric, another for aircraft, another for a train layout, and another for the rest of my hobbies.....................................good job I am still 12 years old. Some scalextric scenes. Note the Subaru theme! http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e308/Krud1/IMG-5.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...IMG_0002-3.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...IMG_0001-3.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...IMG_0003-3.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3.../311205053.jpg |
N gauge should not be hard, plenty of kits around.
You need to try Z, Zm and T gauge for vehicles etc. Z=1:220, Zm is narrow gauge Z ( Swiss RHB ), T gauge= 1:450 (Japanese prototype).:geek: I have built etched brass kits and Nickel Silver in Z and have some for T when I have new glasses, eye test on Sunday.:?:? http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...e/SDC10273.jpg T gauge train in foreground with Z gauge behind. http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...e/SDC10270.jpg T gauge Layout http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...e/SDC10003.jpg Z/Zm diorama minus trains. |
