Wtf!?!?!

Hey guys,

The Ra has developed some wierd running noise. I crudely filmed it tonight so you can hear that the idle is all over the place. After 5mins or so it starts to idle properly.

Very odd, sure one of the "mapping guru's" will help you out here.

Check all your pipe's are on ok first. Then check for any leaks in the pipe's. If all this fails then ask Scott or Tony as it could be an idol control valve.:|

very difficult to be sure from vid but sounds like a slight miss on a cylinder..

pull the plugs and check them.. check coil packs.. (common problem on early car)..

when you crank the engine to start it does it sound liek the regular du du du du brum.. if that makes sense or does it do du du do du brum.. ie. is the compression the same on all four cylinders..

the smoke from the exhaust could just be condensation or does it smell of fuel?

could be leaking oring on an injector or due to misfire from coilpack/plug or loss of compression.

cheers for the replies.

Yesterday I was going along the M25 and the Lambda (sp?) sensor came out. Would that have anything to do with this problem?

Also it only idles like crap when it's been damp or rained hard.

Cheers again guys,

Jas

P.S It's got equal length headers.

Jolly Green Monster 13-12-2009 09:54 AM

yes it would it could do..

or you have caused engine damage by unmapped for headers?
