No MOT and tax, getting it to mot?

Need to get my other run around back on the road as its mot ran out a few weeks back. Problem is it has no tax and no mot and i want to get it mot'd. Is it ok to drive it to a pre-booked mot appointment? Don't fancy racking up a load of points for the sake of moting an old clio lol

cheers,

Dave

I believe this is the case. This is how i've done it previously...

Can always check with DVLA / direct.gov.uk

This is a touchy subject,
My mates a copper and when i asked him about this previously he said that its highly illegal.
No vehicle is aloud on the road without a valid MoT and tax, even if its pre booked in for an MoT,however,
You have to be VERY unlucky to get stopped and even if you do,if its prebooked most pc s would let you off,
This in no way incourages you to do this obviously,
The law states you need to trailer it.
I know what i would do :|

Hmm, interesting!

As I understand it you can drive with no MOT to an MOT station (your closest, within reason I would think), but no tax means you can't drive it there. You need trade plates or a trailer
