My Build at last

JR Motorsports Limited Rye E/Sussex
Looking for someone to tune my car in the Southeast is hard. So when i heard about JR Motorsports Limited i took a look. I met James Rumsey & like me is a total petrol head. He introduced me to his engine builder Jimmy & that was that i booked the car in. Going for a fully forged 2litre all Cosworth build from baffled sump to flowed & ported head. The build itself is good for 850bhp ish not that i will be running that. The point is doing it right and making it very strong. I will be one of the first in my area to have this sort of build by JR Motorsports so fingers crossed. My main point is what a friendly lot. Take a look at this place it's Fantastic.
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...ke0/EVO007.jpg
Engine out & its still warm from me driveing it in there!!!
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...ke0/EVO008.jpg
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...ke0/EVO010.jpg
Striped to this in three hours. Bloody quick.
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...ke0/EVO009.jpg
Some new bits from Cosworth. The younger members might call this bling. I call it metal porn! :yeah:
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...ke0/EVO015.jpg
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...ke0/EVO017.jpg
James Skayers is well known for his engine build's. He also loves a bit of head work, take a look at the seats! 4 angle cut

http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...0121-15051.jpg
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...bloke0/Evo.jpg
Cam's were made for this build 276 In & Ex pullys also made.
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...ke0/EVO026.jpg
Crank pully is fluid filled- very posh :norty:
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...ke0/EVO024.jpg
The clutch & flywheel are straight off a WRC Carbon something or other cant remember its brand name. Errrr yes i can Foooking expensive.
http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u...ke0/EVO025.jpg
Turbo has arived at last from Forced performance so should be on for this weekend. Its not big as it should put out 420/450bhp ish. This build was not done for outright bhp. It is built to be a very caperble road/trackday car. Forgot to mention valves are only 1mm oversize springs & retainers are a bit of a secret? APRacing 6 potts were on the car when i bought it so there definately man enough. As some on here know one of the discs cracked last year. Ray replaced them at a cost of £450 for two discs so havent done any miles. Ive also had the chassi polly bushed [everything] to finish off & i should see them this Sat new Tein top adjustable coilovers. Anyway thats me skint homeless & another divorce on the way. Oh well role on Germany :drive:

worzel 04-03-2010 04:45 PM

Can't wait to see it on Saturday mate.

I'm with you all the way mate, bullet proof it above everything else. And after the conversation we had the other day, that kind of power is spot on.

Good luck with it all mate.

:five:

Nige 04-03-2010 05:56 PM

Just to add all rusty nut's & bolts have been replaced or reconditioned. All bearings are either Cosworth Or Arp. Cam's were made for the car to Jimmy's own spec by Piper cams. Head gasket is HKS. Only thing i'm changing cosmetically is the rear bumper & rear spoiler. Allot of money has gone into this build so i hope it stays together. This was all Paul's fault [red classic 450bhp with ppg] introducing me to James Rumsey then James introducing himself to my bloody wallet. You will meet this man on Sat he is a total petrol head & looks nothing like a multi millionaire at 28years old. :drive:

C. J. 04-03-2010 07:37 PM

Looks and sounds very nice

about time nige!! looking very good :)

Red Baron 04-03-2010 09:48 PM

I must admit, I didn't think James looked like a 28 year old millionaire when he was trying to explain to the nice traffic officer why he had black and silver number plates on his GTR. Honestly officer, it was made before 1972.
On a serious note, heard he's a nice guy and looking forward to having a look round on Saturday.

Oh yeah, build looks good too, I've no idea why you need a fluid filled crank pulley but I want one :)

Good to see the conrods horizontally opposed...at least they got that right.
Shame it won't be the same when their put into that soul-less in-line 4.

Looks good when will you get to test it out??, Bet you can't wait!! :drive:

Nige 16-03-2010 10:15 PM

More probs now. My intercooler & my recirculating valve are not man enough. The jay pipe from the turbo + the turbo elbow need work ie one need fabricating & the other needs porting. Today i managed to buy a H.K.S. intercooler so thats done. My next problem was the r/valve. I dont like all that whoosh bang stuff so trying to find one in alloy that didn't make silly noises was quite a task. Found one in bonny Scotland in the end & should be on its way to me in the next couple of days. Dave Rowe is mapping the car next Wednesday {if car is ready} It should be entertaining as it hasn't even started up as yet. Fingers crossed. :drive:

Its driving me barmy. The delays for outside parts has been stupid. I really need to be in it as there will be probs at first to iron out. I would like some time to get used to it before we go to Germany.

Crowman 16-03-2010 10:51 PM

Plenty of time mate, you will be bored of it by germany:yeah:

Bet you can't wait, i think mine is going to be a mad rush to be ready for Germany, Although just picked up a very tasty Zeigon carbon bonnet and a roll cage for it.
Your old car will be quite a bit different when you see it next as the pile of new parts keeps on growing!!
Hope you get the beast back on the road soon:yeah:

worzel 17-03-2010 09:21 AM

All coming on nicely Nige. It's a proper pain in the arse getting all these litle final bits to finish it isn't it. And amazing just how much these "little bits" cost.

Just when you thought you had stemmed the flow of cash leaving your pockets at a vast rate of knots too.

Nige 27-03-2010 02:46 PM

Well the mapping last week didnt go very well. The car needs an ecu as it didnt play ball with the bigger injecters.Thing's looked qute prommising at one point as it made 310 atw @ 1.4bar on std injecters. So will try again next week with a motec ecu. More £££££

Greig 28-03-2010 08:23 PM

Hope you get the results your after! Can you have launch control
with that ecu?:norty:

C. J. 28-03-2010 09:18 PM

I wasn't a happy bunny when they couldnt finish mapping the car. So to make me feel better they gave me a price i could not refuse on the Motec. I wont be useing launch as i dont do the drag thing. I will have that ani-lag jobby though. Hope to have the diffs run by the Motec later in the year to. Along with various other fuel maps. :drive:
sounded very aggressive on the rollers  It sounds the dogs dangley bits i thought. Obviously not as good as a Scoob though

Nige 29-03-2010 09:12 PM

A few more bit's done today 3bar map sensor 3 port boost solenoid. Motec fitted & waiting for Mr Rowe. Suspension set up sort of sorted. Once Germany is done i will need to drop back to a 35 profile wall as unable to bring the ride hight down to much on 40's. On the wheels & 245 tyres i'm using there is no more Clarence to be had. Oil & filter change then back on the Dyno. If all is well i should be in the car by the weekend. :drive:

Nige told me some time ago what he was looking for. I bet he's got a bit more than that though.

Bullet proof is much better.

Just out of interest Nige, what does the old "Bum Dyno" point towards in your opinion? Especially comparing it to the old Scooby?

Nige 13-04-2010 06:57 PM

It safe at the mo with approx 350/380ish it maxed out my 680 injectors @ 1.7bar it should be @ 2bar. So next step is 044 fuel pump with 800 injectors should see the turbo's full potential then. This wont happen until after Germany. I'm a little disapointed at the mo it handles but not the way i want it to YET. :drive:

worzel 13-04-2010 07:41 PM

Thats a bummer mate. Will you be able to get the handling sorted pre-Germany?

Me thinks he is quoting ATW figures not flywheel, especially if maxing 680's.

2-jaffacake-tone 13-04-2010 10:30 PM

deffo ATW figers!

worzel 14-04-2010 09:18 AM

I must say I was expecting about 400 maxing out the 680's.

I bet it's pretty bloody good.

Another out of interest question..... How does the weight of an Evo compare with a scooby?

I'm only running an FP green 600bhp sounds good not with this turbo though. Its the new hta version nobody has any outright figures for it yet. Quite a few people off the Mlr are asking about my dyno figures that i dont have. The old green was good for 420/450bhp the new one should give a little more 480/500. Rossport say they have one running 510bhp atf @ 2.2bar. I want a little more fuel in there hence the 800's & 044 so i can add a little more boost 2bar giving me more torque & safety with the top end fuelling. + side it will also be in place if & when i want more  I will leave it alone for now & concentrate on my twisty bits as that really needs sorting before the RING :drive:

Looking really nice Nige, really looking forward to seeing it in germany

Nige 23-04-2010 01:36 AM

At last Twistybit's sorted had it back to Jr motorsports today as i couldn't get the car to work for me. Jimmy the star worked his magic & straight away it felt fantastic. Will now leave it alone. Oh yes it went on the dyno & made 372bhp & 345ftlb torque @ 1.7bar dropping to 1.5bar pump fuel. They say there is another 30/40bhp to come if i fit 800 injectors + a Bosh 044. To be honest once i get up to speed with the way it's now handleing do i really need any more? :drive:

BIG"E" 23-04-2010 08:19 AM

You know you do Nige.:yeah::yeah:

I bet your a happy bunny now.:five:

worzel 23-04-2010 09:57 AM

Blinding stuff mate :yeah:

I think it's sorted at those kind of figures.

Good job mate.

Nige 23-04-2010 01:05 PM

It's just about there now very very hapy with the twisty's :drive:

Nige 23-04-2010 07:06 PM

Thought i would put this up. It may look odd it's just the way the last pull was done. You sit at 3000rpm floor it then when you get to a certain speed it lets you go.

Some work on 24%/25% loss from fly bhp some work on wheel horse power divided by 0.76 to be honest i'm not that botherd it works very well on the road. :drive:

Car went bang

When out with James Rumsey owner of Jr motor sport & my car went BANG!
After looking straight down at my oil pressure gauge that was reading fine dumping the clutch {all done in a millisecond} We popped the bonnet took a quick look. Nothing to see so set of back to the garage with a very loud metalic noise going on Once covers were off we could see the clutch & housing on the air con pump were adrift. Further inspection showed moulting metal & filings in & around the pump area. The whole lot pipework pump bottle rad is contaminated with metal filings. To replace with new would be over 2k so for now i will remove it. The belt will be replaced with an Rs belt so can be put back on the road cheep. I hope this is the last bad thing now as Germany isn't to far off. I also hope it wont be as hot as last year :drive:

worzel 30-04-2010 12:32 PM

**** mate, thats awful luck :sadnod:

How long will it be out of comission for?

Thats a funny looking graph by the way, looks like a road dyno graph?

Nige 30-04-2010 12:50 PM

I know it's weired the other graphs are ok. I thought i would put that one up as it was me in the car & they were trying out some of the dyno's extras out. This one held you back for what seemed like an age even with your foot down. Once you reached a pre set speed off you went. It also has settings for drag cars,it is a clever thing. My car will be back on the road today if i can get hold of this Rs belt. :drive:

worzel 30-04-2010 01:09 PM

Cool stuff mate.

Lets hope you are back up and running today then matey :yeah:
