Do I need a re-map???

Hi,

I have a MY00 STI and have just removed the cats. straight through centre and a sport cat downpipe, 2 1/2in.

Do I need a re-map??

Thanks

It would be beneficial for sure.

Thank you,

Could I be doing damage to the engine by running a decat without a remap?

The car seems to be fine, pulls lovely with no flat spots.

I would like to re-map soon but can't afford £500+ at the moment.

You won't be doing any real damage as long as you aren't caning it. It will be doing one of 2 things I believe (someone please correct me if / when I'm wrong) It will either be running slightly rich or lean.

What map have you got in there at the moment?

Just the standard OEM one.

It's well worth getting Simon to look at it matey.

I've PM'ed him.

Can't afford it but I think i'll get it done anyway:grin:

Cheaper than a new engine....

What panel filter should I get? I'm looking at the Green one at the moment.

It just so happens I have a green filter going spare. As I fitted an induction kit.

It's only done about 1000 miles too.

£20.00 and it's yours.
