Help with tightening crankshaft bolt

Does anyone know how to torque the crankshaft pully bolt? Have read that you put it in gear with the brakes on while its tightened but i would have thought there would be a risk of the timing belt slipping on the camshaft wheel teeth.

Belt should not slip, no way.
Best bet is pm Jaffa he will have done dozens of them.

Torqueing it up by putting it in gear surely puts all the load on the belt ? Can the flywheel somehow be locked by taking the starter moter out?

Just re read this
