They run on Hydrogen Peroxide & Liquid Oxygen mix. In other words rocket fuel

He was waiting for the Hydrogen Peroxide & Liquid Oxygen to mix. It then needs to reach a certain temperature in order to produce constant boost (same as using NOS)
