Ring time's

Who did what & in what car???? I will start with my first ever lap on the Ring with my 333bhp Bugeye on a tourist day. 11mins as my other half kept hitting me. When she stopped i then managed a best of 10mins at the end of 4 laps. Last year in the same car with approx 360bhp i managed 9min 15sec at the end of 6laps the 2nd lap on the Friday being the quicker lap. This year i managed 8min 20sec at the end of 5laps my 3rd lap being the quickest. I was chuffed with that until Neil showed me a 8min 11sec in my car when it was std. I know we should not time our selves out there as you have traffic to pass but it gives you an idea how your doing. I think me & Worzel blitzed the place on our wet lap with a stupendous time of 1/2 an hour.:rofl:We could see cj ahead being passed by both the Ring taxi's going sideways. :drive:

Were we that quick

Steve_PPP 17-06-2010 05:58 PM

10:20ish on 2nd dry lap. 11:25ish on 2nd wet lap (based on Nige's video recording!)

said i'd never time my laps but i got too curious :???:

Scott.T 17-06-2010 08:43 PM

Is the start point for timing the gantry as you go hard right by the new nurburgring ?

Scott.T 17-06-2010 09:11 PM

Scratch that question.... timings are BTG, Bridge to Gantry. if it were the above it would be Gantry to Gantry.
The Bridge is on the straight a few hundred yards up from the entrance barriers (which is what I originally thought) and called Antoniusbuche.

Is that where you guy's took your timings from, as thats the point my video starts.

Steve_PPP 17-06-2010 11:08 PM

my times were BTG, to be honest i hadn't noticed there was another gantry round by the entrance to the GP circuit!

Yep nice and wet and slowed to a stand still nearly for that very experience , was very cool and got a wave from the drivers
Theres already a thread on times if you look

Nige 18-06-2010 06:50 PM

cj 9m 30sec on your 1st lap & after slowing down.Did you see Jimmy on that lap? Well done it took me 2 years to do that sort of time. Anger 10m in the wet fantastic any idea what time Greig & James got? :drive:

Anger 18-06-2010 07:24 PM

I had the one that felt faster for over half a lap, but then had a change of pants moment and calmed myself down :D

The list of new bits for next year has started already .............

Nige 19-06-2010 11:15 AM

My list starts with must try harder. Im happy with the time's i got untill Neil showed me that bloody vid of him doing 8m 11sec. I wish i had taken him up now when he said i will come out with you. Bloody man pride i regret not doing that now. More laps needed next year. :drive:

Lucky 19-06-2010 11:32 AM

Just did the one lap, so didnt time it, which was probably just as well, as most of you passed me at some point

However, next year, with an insured car, some brake pads with something left on them, coilovers and plenty of laps, it should be fun. Got what I wanted to out of it this year. Now I know what to expect, I will give it plenty next time.

Excellent  Sure the suspension will made a massive difference.

I'm still keeping my eyes open for a set of 8pot ksports or something similar for next year. Then i'll be better off for doing other sessions at Brands as well 8-)

SpecB 20-06-2010 08:33 AM

My first lap was actually my best at around 10.25, the second was a 10.30 something but then I was blocked in twice and did come off!

Not sure of my wet lap times but I have a feeling the one with Neil in the passenger seat was almost as fast as my dry laps!

Having someone on board who knows the place properly must make such a difference. Nige tried to give me directions on my 2nd wet lap, but still came out with "got a fast right coming up here.... oh wait, no its a tight one" after i'd decided not to brake much :kickbutt:

cheers matey

What I am liking is the fact we are talking about next year already.

Only another 11 months to go lads. :hurrah:

Lucky 23-06-2010 09:56 AM

Would love to, but in cyprus in august, new suspension, new brakes, so the chances of me getting there early are about the same as me scoring in this afternoons game.

I have a ring card that I would hate to waste. Plus it will be a nice weekend away.

Not sure of the dates yet though.
