Ecu

Hi again, its me, the pain in the ass...

another question for you all.......(i did a search with no success)

i have removed the ecu, and there is no sign of burn out....will be getting a new Fuel Pump relay soon, but, if it is the ECU thats at fault will possibly need to scource a new one...
ebay is devoid of such an item, and looked on here and piston heads..no joy...

ours cant be the only scoob with this ecu can it???

well, the ECU i have here has a red label, Marked
V9
22611 AB750
A18-000 RJ7 3927

its a 4 plug btw
Ok, anyone got any ideas

will do mate, but gotta make sure it's this one at fault...was even thinking of an upgrade, but not sure what would work..plenty of suggestions for the old Z4 ecu's but no mention anywhere of a v9...???

Sandman 18-06-2010 06:41 PM

ok, just found this...looks like we could do with a bit more boost, can i pur a z4 ecu in??? excuse the ignorance, but if i dont ask i wont learn

1C, 3B, V9, V5 , V9, 4B, ALL(?TBC) WRX WAGONS - 10.55PSI (0.7BAR) DROPPING TO 6.84PSI (0.5BAR) STARTS TO DROP @ 5000RPM – FUEL CUT 13.79PSI (0.95BAR) -

thanks all :)

You will need a Wagon ECU i.e 1C, 3B, V9, V5 or 4B due to the WRX wagon having the smaller TD04 Turbo.
Saloon ECU will not be suitable as it runs the larger TD05 turbo so has different boost control.

Any of these ECU will work, infact most run the same maps but with minor mods to the running code as they matured.

LOL.. wouldn't be suprised if the info above was gleaned from one of my posts many years ago, as I have all these ECU maps/codes on file.

Sandman 18-06-2010 07:02 PM

so if i obtained a TD05 and a z4 then all would be ok,,,and a little more bhp??

Scott.T 18-06-2010 07:05 PM

Yes, or even better a 6K but a bit rarer

Sandman 18-06-2010 07:15 PM

will i need to upgrade the TMIC??

Jolly Green Monster 18-06-2010 11:04 PM

no the standard ecu maps are all on the standard intercoolers.. the sti silver one imho is no better than the standard wrx one.

ok...swapped out the ecu...and the power feed to the fuel pump is still dead..

anyone have any ideas???

Scott.T 19-06-2010 04:48 PM

Does the car have an alarm/immobiliser, as the immobilisers normally splice into the fuel pump circuit.

has a laserline imobiliser...that is ok, and deactivates as normal....the engine turns over etc..which it doesnt when the imobilister on.. this is probebly something really simple..but i cant see it....

immobilisers are normally 2 or 3 point i.e starter motor, fuel pump and ignition. it may not be re-connecting the fuel pump when de-activated.

I would try and see where it's been wired into, although modern alarms are quite tricky to trace as they tend to use all black wires.

"LASERLINE model 921K immobiliser is a sophisticated
electronic device for vehicle protection, which ensures very
reliable protection with a simple operation procedure. The
system consists of a control unit, LED/Receptacle and two
code keys.
The 921K immobiliser deactivates the main electric circuits
of the vehicle (starter solenoid, petrol pump, injection or
ignition coil...) and simply operates by a coded key that
must be touched to a receptacle on the vehicle fascia before
starting the vehicle."

looks like we need an auto electrician out here asap

Jolly Green Monster 21-06-2010 01:08 AM

just recapping.. you get no fuel pump?

checked plug under rear seat? often melt

removed and checked fuel pump? as they fail

changed fuel pump relay (up under dask on Driverside A pilar)
