And about bloomin time mate. Really crackin example mate. I didn't realise how much you've changed it. Well done that man.

Looking good steve. One of the nicest bug's around. :ok:Oh and yes, SPOILER!!. Either a lip, or STi one. There is no middle ground!
|
About time Steve, loving the new grills, really work well with the car.
|
Likeing the new grill's mate. Nice car & has served you well. :drive:
|
Looking good as always Steve, and yes get rid of the table top and stick something big in its place, keep up the hard work buddy, grills look very good and suit the car.:ok::ok:
|
cheers guys, managed to pick the grilles up off a guy on scoobynet, can't believe that the black ones are over £200 for the pair new :| but really pleased with how the look when fitted. thought about getting silver ones but it would just look way too bling ;)
not surprised about the rear wing comments from everyone either  can't decide what to do though. i quite like the spoilerless with lip idea, but i'll need to find another bootlid or get holes filled and repainted so its hassles. Easiest bet would be just to drill more holes and put and STI wing on it, but they're not cheap (especially once painted). And when one crops up in WR Blue, the whole world seems to be competing to buy it (not that WR blue is common - its popular!) :D |
Looking good Steve.....like the front grilles, might have to get a lower one in black myself:doubleup:
|
The basic list of changes so far is:
- PPP - Decat uppipe - De-resonated centre section - Tornado2 (scoobyworld - H&S rebranded) backbox - Earthing kit - STI tmic - Walbro 255 - STI strut brace - Ksport 8pot 356mm front brake kit with bluestuff NDX pads - KYB Ultra SR shocks - Prodrive springs - 24mm rear Whiteline ARB - Whiteline droplinks front/back - Morettes with HID kit - Orciari Fog covers - Blob STi skirts - Subaru genuine splitter - STI7 interior - Subaru rear bumper extensions/diffuser. - 18" Inovit Torque alloy wheels in gunmetal - STI7 scoop & undertray - Blobeye rear lights - STI8 rear spoiler - Debadged bootlid - Zunsport upper/lower grille. |

And i'd only just stuck a new Euro plate on for Germany! Quote:

It's looking better all the time
|
Saj has got two in WR Blue at the mo I think.
|
Quote:
Nope, the current spare scooby cash is going to fund (the other) Nick's fmic, in return for his STI tmic and undertray. |
latest additions:
STI7 bigger scoop (all the way from Scotland...) http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...ofIMG_1351.jpg And an STI top mount (all the way from Littlehampton  ) http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...ofIMG_1344.jpg Still using the wrx undertray at the moment but the STI one will be on the car once its removed from Nicks :) |
It's really good to see the chronological changes to the car mate.
It shows just how much of a good job you have done to it. Top job matey :10: :10: |

Coming along well Steve, good job buddy:ok:
|
Looks really good mate :-)
|
so this is the latest change :D
picked up a bootlid in the same colour this morning and fitted it this afternoon. was a bit dark in the photos as didnt finish until about 4:30pm but you get the idea. not as many spoilerless newages around as classics, so its something different. http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/Img_3848.jpg http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/Img_3854.jpg http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/Img_3856.jpg Will be back on its 18"s soon. |
Picked up from FMP Chichester?
I was bidding on that you bugger! Shame I didn't know could have saved you a few quid by not bidding! |
very very smart mate
|
Quote:
yes, it was from FMP. Never thought you would have been after it, its the wrong colour for you! :p |
Cars lookin good mate i like spoilerless bugs. Although im not a fan of morettes. The lights on this guys car looks best on bug eyes imo - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1485075
|
I like it. Wheres your black wheels though? Would look the nuts with them back on.
|
I do like the look of the Inovite Torque's:) whats the ET on them?
|
the inovit torques are still in the garage. put the old wheels on over winter because i have to use the car in the snow/ice and don't want to risk curbing the 18"s!
once we know theres no more snow coming, they'll be back :D LJF - they are ET42 i think. |
They are some lovely wheels mate i dont blame you for not using them;)
|
thought you wanted an sti spoiler? so this is a surprise! I do think scoobs should have a spoiler though i'm afraid....and i wonder what the handling might be at 'speed' without it!

Nut a Spec D spoiler would look the nuts! |
Quote:
i actually quite like it (i wasn't sure all along if i'm honest, i only decided once it was all fitted that i think it looks ok!). The idea in my mind was always that if i didn't like it, i'd drill one of the bootlids for a big spoiler (not necessarily an STI one). With regards to downforce, i took it for a quick run yesterday and couldn't tell the difference. Haven't thrown it into any corners at high speed but don't think the wrx spoiler exactly did much in that sense in the first place :D |

Gotta say Steve, I think it looks really nice, better than with the low level spoiler.
|
Think you were the just before me Steve - I bought his Zero 2E's and picked them up Sat. Looks good!
|
Quote:
Not sure if i'll keep it like that forever or not. I'm considering the one in this thread if i change my mind: http://bbs.scoobynet.com/859457-adju...spoiler-2.html Although i'd probably have the blade carbon wrapped. |

Saw the Cusco's in the garage, glad i only took the cash for the bootlid to be honest! Would have been skint otherwise :D |

Great chronology and development of your car.:10:
Jura |
Bit of an update.... now have a second bumper (thanks to Jura) with side spats and diffuser to go on :D
If anyones fancies giving me a hand over the weekend fitting the bumper, it'd be handy as its a two man job to get it lined up. I can supply tea and biscuits as a reward! Longer term, not sure if the spoilerless look will stay or not..... indecisive as always! ;) |
Quote:
Hi Steve i'm looking forward to see bumper fitted, and i think will very good with rear spoiler. But depends which one you are prefer,i personally prefer spoiler. Good luck:doubleup: Jura |

Im Loving the de spoilerd look, gets my vote :10: |

Masked up the rear quarters above the bumper ends just in case i slipped, trying to line up both sides when you're only holding the middle is a challenge! Will get some pics in a bit :) |

Removed the flaps too, haven't been flapless for about 3 years! http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/Img_4977.jpg http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/Img_4982.jpg http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/Img_4986.jpg |
Looking good Steve, but needs dropping to carry off the spoilerless look for me IMO
|
good going
not my cup of tea ,each to there own :ok: |
Looks a good days work steve, excellent
|
Looking good, just above as James/Anger said need drop/lower:10:
Jura |
nice :) +1 for lowering
|
Love it Steve
Theres a Blue spoiler on SN for 200, cant work out if its real or not from the photo though... |
Car looks a bit higher than normal in those pics but i think its cos it wasn't on the flat - half on, half off the road.
Quote:
|
Hi Steve i've before fitted 40mm lowering springs, recommended.
Jura |
Looking good.
Are the rear clusters like the Classic i.e use loads of black gunge to seal them ? If so I hope u used some when re-fitted |

well i think your cars wicked steve with the mods you have done on it
i think you should save up and get a big spoiler+boot as a spare then you can give it a change now and then. as for telling if a spoiler is real or a copy. look at the brake lite,at each end the real ones have wot looks like a bullet tip on the end of the brake lite. copys dont. i not 100% i wish i had a turbo  |
Nice one Steve :yeah:
|
Looks fantastic steve. I love what you have done to yours as its now unique and you wont see another like it. It prob only looks high at the back because they seem to take a while to settle after being jacked up too. :worthy:
|
Hi Steve here is idea how will look if you get your car more lowered
http://i44.tinypic.com/30biqt2.jpg Jura |
cheers mate. that looks the business but can't justify swapping out for coilovers yet really, suspension on it is all pretty new.
blobeye rear lights do help too, still keeping an eye out for a bargain set on ebay. :) |
Quote:
 I like that!!! |
Quote:
Yes i know, this is just idea maybe for next project:wink: Blobeye rear lights will be looking spot on on your car:ok: Jura |
Not replied before as to be honest I wasn't sure on how the new bumper suited the car:-|
Kept popping in to have a look though and the more I look at it, the more i'm liking it:nod: Does sit well spoilerless too:ok: If you opt to go back for the spoiler look, how about the S202, 03, 04 spoilers? think one of them would go well:ok: The torque drifts look good on the piccie Jura posted up:cool: maybe worth consideration Steve? Has to rank as one of the nicest bugs on the road mate:five: |
Cheers Ron.
Everyone has different tastes and i've got no problems with some people saying it doesn't look right etc. A lot of people say the spoilerless doesn't work without it being slammed with wide wheels, but hey ho. One of the S202/3 spoilers might be cool. Wouldn't want to spend a load on one to change my mind though! |
Quote:
I think I would have been the same if it was my car, not sure if I liked it before or after:-| more often than not its the mods that your not sure about after fitment that turn out to be the best ones further down the line:ok: Spoiler wise, how about trying one of those BMW lips on the rear? |
We can always stick mine on without bolting to see how it looks
|
steve how was the diffuser put on,is it pop rivited
|
Looking good - need to get cracking on the aesthetics of mine now!
|
Looks good mate :-)

Time for a bit of an update i think.
Did an evening session at Brands which went well, apart from melting a set of brand new Bluestuff NDX's (yes, the copper in them melts at 1100c, so a bit toasty). Top marks to EBC who got involved with a thread on scoobynet, and they've sent me a replacement set of NDX's to try, as well as a set of yellows (for free). Seems there are issues with the pad on WRX 4 pots and EBC wanted people to try options and give feedback. Anyway, brake fluid change this morning was the final step before being ready for the Ring this weekend (cheers to Brent @ SMD for fitting me in, rather last minute!). Some photos from Brands: http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...s/Rsp_2421.jpg http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...s/Rsp_2362.jpg |
Other recent changes - i've sold the despoilered bootlid and currently gone back to the WRX one. Hopefully this won't be staying too long as I have a little project to work on.
Also picked up a set of blobeye lights :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...T/100_7041.jpghttp://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/Img_6178.jpg Really like how they look, make the back of the car look much newer, especially with the new bumper/diffuser. Roll on Germany!! |
I noticed the blob lights at the weekend and thought there new :)
|
the blobeye lights look good steve :ok:as for the bluestuff brake pads not good,i was told they were good 4 track and road
|
Looking good Steve!!
|
Steven,
Sounds like prep for a sale? Brings a tear to any eye coz I seen in the flesh. Iiiiiiiimmaculate condition with oodles of love shown. You should be proud. We're proud of you're pride. |

Steve really nice pictures :10: Jura |
That is quite a transformation there Steve.
Good job mate. Your car looked lovely in Germany. |
Probably time for an update ;)
So... changes since June last year.... I bought an STI spoiler online for cheap (took a punt on it) and it turned out to be crap. But it was on the car for a few months before selling it again (at least i made my money back). This was the car at Japbash in Sept 2011. http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...pbash20011.jpg http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/Image2-5.jpg |
After that, i saved up the pennies for a while and decided to address my problems with melting front brakes. So at Christmas, these arrived :D 356mm 8 pot Ksport kit from the group buy on Scoobynet, with bluestuff NDX pads.
http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...pp/ksport1.jpg They've totally transformed the car on track, and got some serious abuse at the Ring and even more so at Goodwood. They don't fade at all and the stopping power is just nuts. Might have to address the imbalance from front/rear as the below pic shows  http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...92174698_n.jpg |
After the brakes went on, my front splitter got broken (trodden on  ) so that was removed for a while. During this time, our friendly Admins at True Colours detailed the car - well chuffed with the result. :ok:
http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/IMAG0159.jpg http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/IMAG0161.jpg http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/IMAG0164.jpg Shame it was raining for the drive home! |
did your arse twitch
|
Last update.... bought a genuine STI spoiler to replace the crappy replica. Only problem was it was white (off Anger's trooper) so huge thanks to Tangowayne for painting the spoiler and bootlid, plus the new splitter and fog covers at the same time.
Fog lamps removed before new covers fitted, and all now done bodywork-wise. How the scoob looked at the Ring: http://sphotos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...80638315_n.jpg http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...59439993_n.jpg And at Goodwood: http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...50400013_n.jpg |

Had the car for 5 years now, and finally going to get round to decat/map. Its been running rich for a while anyway so i need to get the fuelling checked anyway.
This arrived today from the H&S group buy, shiny :) http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/IMAG0280.jpg It also weighs quite a bit less than i was expecting, i get the feeling the standard catted downpipe with all the heatshields on it must be at least twice as heavy. |
Overkill on the finish! Need to drive it upside down now!
Looks great, I have some spare heat wrap and stainless ties if you need some. |
Quote:
Just put an order in with Thermal Velocity earlier today  |
Very shiny! Should free a few horses with a map Steve ;-)
|
Great write up Steve.
Will be good to see the results once fitted. |

It will feel much better with a little more poke.
|
Have you replaced the up-Pipe or was it de-catted on the PPP versions?
