Easy to get into and auto just what i need at the moment then wait for it the head cracked :sadno::sadno::sadno::sadno: not had any choice but to fix it so looks like i will be in the Surf for a while as it has cost ££££££££££ not as much as a rebuild on the scoob but a big dent in my Impreza money(this was going in to a bank account to not be touched).I am sure my luck will change soon and i can get it sorted for jap bash.

Shame to hear about the scoob Wez, and good luck on the new venture, we had a isuzu trooper auto, but got rid of it as it cost us a fortune in fuel, and then we brought another scoob:rofl:

Scooby Wez 21-08-2010 11:02 AM

Fuel not a problem as i just pop to Tesco for some cooking oil 64P a litre

Great choice mate. I've been thinking about getting a Surf. Loved my old Hilux pick-up

You will miss the scoob, but the Surf will win a place in your heart

Chunk 21-08-2010 11:56 AM

What engine is the Surf?

Thay are all good. I had the 2.4 diesel, but the one i want next is the 3.0TD

Crowman 21-08-2010 11:56 AM

Wez
I had one for 18 months, prone to doing head gaskets mate.
Is it the 4 cylinder?
Sorry to hear the scoobhas gone mate

AndyWRX 21-08-2010 12:04 PM

Excellent choice mate really good cars bad luck about the head but at least it was fixable, shame the scoobs gone though.

Scooby Wez 21-08-2010 12:38 PM

Yep love it already like a car to drive.I got it for a very good price the plan was sell one of my bike's to pay for it which i did then save the scoob money for when i can get another one.Anyway it's the 3.0 ssr-x so does have some nice bit's on it rear heaters etc.The 3.0 do not normaly do the heads think i just got a bad one that had been boiled up in the past.I have gone for a complete new head, rad and all the other little bit's(some how a snorkel made it's way on to the list LOL) came to just over a grand which still makes it a cheap Surf lookin at some of the prices.

Crowman 21-08-2010 12:41 PM

Sounds good mate
Electrica rear windscreen too?

Chunk 21-08-2010 01:00 PM

This is the best place to get Hilux bits from. Everything i bought for mine came from here. really cheap too. very helpful on the phone...

Couple of other places that might be quite handy. Going to get a few bits for my Frontera from these...

Nice looking Surf there Wez, handles like a car? myself questions that, unless its based on a 2cv or similar?
I used to have a Toyota Landcruiser 4.2l, 6cyl with 2 inch body lift, 6inch suspension jack, running 34 x 12 inch rubber that got dirty!

SUBARMAN 22-08-2010 07:01 AM

Good luck Wez !!

Sorry to hear scoobs gone mate, I hope it gets as much love as you gave it (would've liked to of offered you a few quid to swap drivers seats as your one was very slighter better nick then mine).

Good luck with the Surf and I hope you can make it to J.Bash....we will reserve a spot ontop of the WR1's ;)

worzel 22-08-2010 10:36 AM

Sorry to hear the scoobs gone mate, you got that looking the nuts. But, the reasons are more important.

Good luck mate and don't be a stranger on here.

PMSL @ Scott and agree that there will be a designated powder blue parking spot for you.

Scooby Wez 22-08-2010 02:27 PM

No way i will be a stranger as soon as i am back in top form a new scoob will be top of the list .I have been lucky that 2 of my mate's have Surf's so with there help the head is off now and the new one should be here Tuesday.Never thought i would sell the scoob and one of my bikes but what happened has made me have a good think and health is more importent. My left side is getting better but still have a few problems with grip etc.Jay still has her sport so still have a scoob in the family.Thank you again for all the nice replys and my main aim now is get it sorted for jap bash hopefully there should be 3 of us in Surfs one with a v8 in it.
