dump valve

I know these are hated by most people, but i have an adjustment screw on top, anyone know what this adjusts and which way to turn it

I'll miss mine when it goes, I'm blanking mine off as suggested by Simon JGM.

I'm sure someone will have an answer. Any pics so they know what they are dealing with?

Possibly the piston adjustor?

You adjust this so that the piston is just closed when the car is at idle.

Hell yeah!!! Your on a H aren't you Steve? Will sound great. Feels nice to drive on too.

scooby999, personally I wouldn't bother with a BOV/VTA. Waste of time and money. The factory recircs are good. Just give it a grease up etc and it will be fine.

Steve

No... no you won't!

The screw may be to wind up the spring to ensure the BOV stays closed under boost.

Anger 25-08-2010 07:44 AM

The more you screw it in the higher the revs and boost it will take to dump and will chirp instead... the more out it is the easier it will be to swoosh instead and will go off at low revs ;)

was told i can blank mine off as the turbo cant take it

Anger 25-08-2010 05:24 PM

Bob Rawle who is one of the best mappers in the country recommends blanking them off on TD04's

A mate has had his blanked off for years without problems

i did speak to RCM and they said i couldnt as mine(td04)is not a roller bearing type and not strong enough(in fairness he sought of lost me at that point as most of it started going way over my head)

It would be intresting to see what everybody else thinks.

I have wanted to blank mine off for a while(not just for the sound but its susposed to make the car more responsive0
