Rocker head

Just a quick one, i still have a leaky driver side rocker gasket, i took it off again yesterday to see if i did anything wrong when fitting it originally, i noticed on the head that on the bottom rear, and 3/4 of the way up the back there are 2 half circle cut outs that have blanks in.
I am almost convinced that thats where the oil is leaking from.
Does anyone know what they are, and whether they are supposed to be changed with the rocker gasket?

Hi, yes the half moon seals should be changed as they go hard and brittle .

I used sealant around mine ,worked a treat so far

just like silicone sealant?? there is already plenty of that all round it still. I took loads off when i changed the gasket. It just seems that lots of kits dont include the half moon seals for the rocker gasket.

All i know is when i rebuilt my engine i used new seals and gaskets throughout , havent had a leak touch wood.

thats cool, i thought these were the gaskets i needed, apparently not!!!

there isn't a rocker gasket kit, they all come under seperate part numbers, it depends on wether the half moons have gone brittle or not
if they are still pliable then simply remove, clean and re-seal...........
