ebay w*****s

right brought a iphone 3gs described as mint condition on o2 from a 100 % seller with 135 feedback, phone came in ****e condition with scratches all over the screen and doesnt work with my simcard no response from seller open a dispute with ebay, seller oh yes you can return it but im on holiday for a month so dont do it now, phone up o2 today to see why even the simcard doesnt work on it and phone has been barred and bloody worthless and cant be unblocked and they said send it back to the seller(yep im trying that but this is just fraud they knew it was barred before they sent it let alone describing as mint when its not),just the ebay/process is ****e have to wait untill dec 20th for the seller to reply and then they will escalate it to a claim and then it will take up to 21days to get a refund, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bloody ebay good sometimes but other times a pain in the f*****g ass!!!!

Rant over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its a shame, i've bought loads on ebay but mainly stuff i need from trade sellers on there.

too many tossers on there unfortunately, who know how to exploit the refund system. Always try and find someone local(ish) so i can offer to collect, if they're bent they normally go quiet at that point or insist on posting only - time to run a mile. :(

I've been impressed with ebay of late.

Bought a turbo for our zafira as a spare a few months ago as it was really cheap. Got it home, and the fins fell out the turbo, the manifold was cracked as was the penny washer near the wastgate cracked, basically totally fecked. The advert on reflection was a clear attempt to sell a knackered unit but not described as such. The seller was no use, but went through ebay and got a full refund.

Also Bought an apexi ECU and handcontroller a month ago, got it and never worked, again on reflection is was a clear attempt by the seller to pass off a dodgy unit. It was water logged and fried. But again took it up with ebay and again got a full refund.

Lots of dodgy sellers out there trying to flog broken goods. But I have found ebay to be very fair and can generally see through every scam going. In both my cases second accounts were set up, and ebay was able to confirm my findings by checking postal addresses and I think IP addresses of the accounts... It does take a little time, but generally I have found to be pretty good at sorting out these disshonest feckers.!

I'm sure you will get it sorted Dave, just means you might have some money tied up for a while until EBAY sorts it out.!

I've had no problems with ebay, tend to read the adverts twice, check their feedback very carefully if not 100%, and the only problems with stuff have been my own fault because I did not read the advert properly.
The only time I was not happy with goods, I got full refund from seller with no problems, Found sending them photos taken when being unpacked, helped.

yeah i always read adverts twice, three times etc b4 i bid and only normally buy from someone with loads of feedback with 100% which this lady was and she has still sold a mint described phone which is ****e but the worse thing as i said it is barred as well so no good for anyone(im sure someone could get round this???),so she knew what she was doing i can understand from a zero feedback seller but not from someone who has been on since 2004 so she must have been really desperate for the money, and then to say sorry im going away on holiday for a month so cant do nothing!!!!!

If you paid by paypal can you not just take the money back?

Chunk 13-12-2010 05:12 PM

So many rip offs on ebay, i stick to buying from traders or just go elsewhere on the net

I find a lot of ebay stuff turns out to be faulty returns or cheap far east junk

Chunk 13-12-2010 05:12 PM

Hope you get it sorted. Not what you need right before Christmas

I got my iphone 3gs off ebay, i made a point of finding one within an area i could collect it.
I went to the east end of london, and the nearer i got the more i thought, this does not look good.
However i met the guy at a rather tasty flat,i looked at th ephone, put my sim card in and tested it, was as new condition, jailbroken , over 600 songs,50 odd apps and tom tom europe. I did pay top money for it, but still way less than buying a new one.

So thats the good experience, the bad was my account was hacked, account was then used to sell a shed load of mobile phones, lap tops, cameras etc all fictisious, not sure how he arranged the payments, but once ebay sorted getting me back into my account i had over 100 buyers chasing me for the items, which i had not sold, ebay were no help at all,i spent months sending the very same email to the duped buyers tellingthem what happened. Was a furkin nightmare!!

Oh , and am upgrading to iphone 4 now, my eldest who is only 9 has made it clear he would love my iphone 3.

ouch sounded like you have had a big time **** experience with ebay,so why couldnt they go the extra mile and email all the buyers and explain what had happened to have made it easier for you???,the only two local people i found selling on there both of them said could not do pickup as they now lived in london, but could send it ok which sounded dodgy as most people i thought would change their location and address if you move(to be able to receive items),and thats where all my problems started with my boy selling his iphone to get his scooter and then wanting to buy mine off me and me then getting a 3gs(which he has never paid for anyway lol)

And you know you will be giving your boy your iphone in the end must keep those kids happy lol!!!
