So bored......

Sitting here in court on Jury service, it's the only time I would say I'd rather be a work!!!

Getting paid by work while you sit doing nothing

Sounds good to me

If only that was correct I wouldn't mind!!!

Chunk 13-12-2010 12:47 PM

I'm sure you are supposed to get paid as per normal while on jury service

I know it used to be

DukeBoy 13-12-2010 12:52 PM

It's up to the employer if they pay you or not (but who would in the current climate), you have to claim loss of earnings back from the government, depending on how many hours you sit there for it £32 for half day or £60 for full day, so whatever it's still a loss, just what you need this time of year.

have you been used for trial yet?

i am so not looking forward to jury service if it comes my way:vom:

Chunk 13-12-2010 01:07 PM

Not good, Every penny helps at the moment. Could do without losing any

Hope its a quick case for you

i had one about 6 years ago, lasted the full two weeks. Luckily i was only dossing around in a crappy job after uni, so wasn't left out of pocket.

was a bit nasty too, don't really want to hear about that sort of ****e that goes on around the areas you live in or visit!

LOL my wife was due to be there this week too, but got a letter after sending the form back that she was no longer required.

I know the feeling as done the same thing in Jan 2009....like waiting at the doctors and antisipating the worst possible outcome i.e a 6 month case.....

Enjoy Lewes, you'll spend afew hours walking round killing time......

ralliart didz 13-12-2010 09:14 PM

couldnt you just said you didnt want 2 do it,or have you got to do it by law

Scott.T 13-12-2010 09:29 PM

You have to attend by law. If u have a good employer they should continue tp pay as normal. When you get the allowance you then pay that back to your employer. The employer takes the loss.
