tbtstt 25-01-2011 05:39 PM

Still not sure on the colour of it, but I'd give my left nut for an RA-R!

Good video worzel, can't beat a bit of Best Motoring!

Same as that mate. I was unsure about the colour to begin with, but the more I see it, the more I like it. Especially with the white 18's on it

RAR came 2nd to a Bexhill horseless carriage. If you understood like what i do to the guy driving the MR300 evo not only was he down on power by 50bhp to the rar but in his own words said they have fitted wet's to his car & they over heated! :drive:

Nice to see the RA-R and spec c going well, interesting how much faster the RA-R was.... was there an Evo in the video ? haha

tbtstt 25-01-2011 09:26 PM

I was under the impression they only made these in yellow, but after some web browsing...

I know i hate to lose. I thought Spec C's were approx 320/330bhp & RAR 340/350 bhp ? I do know that Evo was only a 300. Anyway it got beat good & proper. :drive:

I would have liked to have seen the RA R & NSX on their own, starting side by side on the grid.

When you consider the RA R is at the back of the grid and the NSX is in 2nd on the grid. That would have been interesting for sure.

As said in this thread though, the lack of a GTR is obvious. That would have been really interesting. :drive:

The RA-R is quoted as 320 BHP/432 NM (which I think it about 318 Ft. Lbs.). :)

I daresay the GT-R would have spanked the lot of them. It would be up, what, 150+ BHP on the nearest rival (the RA-R I think?) plus it has a trick gearbox and the like as standard. If you look at the times at the end of the video the fastest lap the RA-R puts in is a 1:06.405

Now watch this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lbhxetR-o4
(Race starts at 29:50).

The GT-R puts in a 1:02.125 on the same circuit (I appreciate that there is a different driver, track conditions and the like). Even excluding these factors though, the GT-R has to be at least a couple of seconds a lap faster.

Back when all the JDM stuff was on relatively equal footing I think putting an older GTR in there would be an interesting comparison, but with the current GT-R I think it would be a forgone conclusion...

...in my opinion anyway!

worzel 27-01-2011 05:31 PM

Good find :10:

It goes to show just how quick the "Datsun" is. :drive:

One good thing is how close the RA R comes to the Porsche Turbo & GT3, and the RA R was on a damp track.
