bonnet raisers

I have fitted some of these to my wagon, but I have noticed when fitted there is a gap of about 20mm between the intercooler and the rubber seal. What i need to know is this a problem? will it make much of a difference if there is a gap(I am guessing that most of the air will still be hitting the intercooler)
I know these arent to everybodys taste, but i like them

Theres a big write up on SN about how it increases under bonnet temp, rather than reduce it.

Just had a look SN seems to be mixed views on it,no one seems to know for sure.

presuming your talking about 'jacking up' the back of the bonnet? this was something we did years ago when racing/rallying various vauxhalls and as above it doesn't actually improve anything temps wise..........

Its more of a cheap mod to change the look ,just didnt want to do any damage.
E.G the air being able to escape thrugh the gap between the rubber skirt and intercooler

simple answer then is to fit a "skirt" to the i/cooler to maintain the airflow - air is as lazy as the rest of us and if it has an easy route it WILL take it rather than go thro' the core.........
