Fuel pressure regulator/ new injector query

Hi, I have a date with Simon shortly and hoping to get slightly over 400 (fingers crossed) I'm still running standard injectors (565's) and was wondering whether they'd be maxing out. Due to expense I was considering that fitting a fuel pressure regulator would be the better/ cheaper option rather than replacing the injectors. I'm not intending to run at any more power once this has been done. Is my thinking right???

If the regulator is the way to go can anyone recommend one?

Thanks again for your advice.

I had the same problem, thing is the STi injectors only flow505 ish so keep that in mind. One of the tune guy's will put you right & a FPR is a very good idea SARD is a good one & should give you a little more from your existing injectors. :drive:

Pretty sure they will be getting close if not max'd, although not personally pushed the Sti pinks that far on a 2.0ltr.

There is alot of debate as to what the actual flow of the STi pinks are, some say 500, others 520, 550 etc....depends what you read, you get the idea.

IIRC the flow scale in the map is about 568cc. We max'd them on Nige's 2.5 with 20G

What Turbo are you using as standard VF won't achieve 400 ???

If you want to stick with the standard fuel delivery method then use http://lateralperformance.co.uk/prod...pressure_gauge

If you want parrallel fuel rails then use the 3-port variant of the above, a Y-piece and equal lengths of fuel hose to the 2 the fuel rails.

He has a MD321H

I thought pinks with an aftermarket fuel pressure reg were good for 420bhp

you'll probs be advised to fit a fuel reg as with a slightly higher base fuel pressure you should cover that no probs..............sure Simon will advise as to what you require exactly if you ask him

as for Fuelab regs we do pukka 3ports at better value...........

Sounds about right with uprated pressure, as Alyn said.... I''m sure Simon will confirm.

Thanks for the advice. I'll PM Simon, but will probably go for the fuel reg. I don't think I'll be going higher than the 420 mark on the standard internals so will keep to the pinks. (more than enough for me!)
Really appreciate your advice.
