SES Trackday - Brands Hatch 2011 - old thread

After the success of last years track day at Brands, I thought we'd start planning another one. It'll be a good opportunity to have some track time for those going to the Nurburgring, plus its a good fun evening on circuit.

I know of several on here who have already been talking about going on a trackday in the next couple of months, so it would be good to sort out a club event rather than people just booking things individually.

The options are:
old information removed

- Both sessions are 102db noise limit (same as last year).
- Both sessions are novice only - so you must have only done 3 or less track days in the past.

7th April? Did you book it over the phone? They're only showing the full day @ £199 or the taster sessions in the evening on the website.

Steve,

Thanks mate, so it does

Shouldn't have rushed this post in my lunch break i guess. That would work out nicely - people can do the 3hr open pit and others can join in their chosen taster sessions. Makes the 7th April look like the one to go for  and i've closed the poll we don't need it anymore.

So.... lets just have a normal list, based on 7th April:

3hr open pit:
1. Darth Maul (booked)
2. Anger
3. Moley_WRX
4. Crowman
5. Steve_PPP
6.
7.

20 minute sessions:
1. Lucky
2.
3.
4.
5.

(I've taken the names above from those who voted)

Anger 21-02-2011 10:46 PM

Sounds good to me :)

Just spoken to ClubMSV about this. The timetable showing on the website is misleading for the £99 evening - it is actually not a 3hr open pit session. :(
The £99 evening is actually 4 x 20 min sessions - that fit inbetween the tasters. The difference is that we only do the sighting laps in the first 20 min run - then the remaining 3 are just open. The tasters have sighting laps on every 20 min session.

Darth Maul - can you confirm the exact date/time of the 3 hr session you booked on? As MSV are telling me there isn't one on the 7th April??

Would those on the first list be happy with this 4x20min evening? - or prefer to find another 3hr session on another day? At this stage I don't think we'll find an opportunity for both 3hr and taster sessions on the same day, so it looks like we can't please everyone!

darth maul 22-02-2011 01:43 PM

It's as you have described at the top 3x20 plus

Anger 22-02-2011 01:51 PM

Think i'll be booking another day then

Lucky 22-02-2011 02:35 PM

LOL, ever wish you hadn't started something Steve? :boom:

Anger 22-02-2011 03:35 PM

3 hours go far to fast without all this breaking it up

Scooby_Greg 22-02-2011 03:39 PM

Good job you checked Steve! It doesn't look like they do open pit novice sessions un the evening any more...

Although edit -
The option is an open pit evening on Apr 14th. The others are only full days.

Or go back to the original plan:angst:

Yeah. Something like that! :fool:

I might give them another bell tomorrow and see whats best in terms of other dates. I think we'll end up splitting into two different days if everyone wants a go. As there's more people wanting a 3hr open pit, thats probably what I'll look to organise first.
