Which vf??
 
Im hunting for a new turbo to run upto 380bhp on my classic,
My question is which ihi vf? would be best for me?

380bhp from VF is achievable,but with twin scroll turbos as VF36,VF37 etc.
Maybe better option will be TD05-20G,18G will make this power with methanol too.

is the vf34/35 any better than a 16g,
and if so which is better from the two?

Doesn't matter got my answers.
Going to run a vf34 as top out at around 360bhp but have much better spool up than the td range which is what im after.

VF34 is probably best from VF range,amazing spool and is better than 16G in my view,but aware these turbos are very rare,if you find good VF34 expect pay at least £380.
VF35 is good turbo too,perfect for around 330-340bhp(some made 360bhp),for good one price is from £250-£350.

Which is better,really i tried VF35 and i was not really impressed,later we are tried VF34 and this turbo we are loved,amazing spool and we are made 350bhp with supported mods.

If you are looking for spool,yes VF34 is best from these mentioned turbos.

360bhp is possible,but standard power from VF34 is 330-350bhp(i've seen few with 360bhp,but these some people run Methanol as well)

Thanks Jura, boost wise is 1.4bar good to get this power from them ruining a Hdi Fmic. got all the other mods to make it, just removed my 16g so looking to replace it now.

I was run 1.5 bar with HDi FMIC too and we are made 350bhp.Everything depend on mapper and mainly on all components.
I would also advise if you can source ported headers with Harvey Up pipe,which will help on spool and make some power as well.

From reports on SN yes will made difference on spool.

I am running a VF34 on my Bugeye WRX and ported headed are well worth it , they help the bottom end lovely with my bigger top mount I am running 345 hp but FMIC is ready to go on when I get around to it.

Steve FMIC will keep your temp in safe place and hopefully will release some bhp as well,yeah i know you don't want the FMIC due your bumper(looking very nice).

In my opinion if you find cheap APS or Perrin will work nicely,because these don't required cutting.

Agree VF34 is best of VF range single scroll and will max out at approx 360BHP/335ftlb with good supporting modifications.

Make sure the exhaust housing is not cracked on the inside from the wastegate flap outwards. Alot of the VF's are showing single or multiple cracks in this area now.

The other option (but rare) is an MD304 which is a ported VF34.

Spooky had one for sale on here, i bought it but it had a cracked housing, so after we both searched for a while we concluded we could not get another housing or at least one that wasn't already cracked (it uses a VF24/VF28/VF29/VF34 exhaust housing), so he took it back.

VF43 will make more power,but on classic i've seen few,but all with mixed bhp,some people claim 350-380bhp,but i've seen just from 320-350bhp.

VF34 is best turbo which i have before and definitely best turbo from VF range.
