FoS Toyobaru in the flesh

Well here it is - see what you think. Toyota showing their version(s). Already the tuning companies are busy and bodykits etc abound, and it's not officially released until tomorrow

Ah, didn't know you were down the today Keith.

Claire and I have just got back, long day and rather warm! Claire drove the GT86 up the hill this morning and i think she likes it ;) I even managed to fit in the back seat (just!). Its a very nice looking car close up, interior is a lot better than you'd expect from the usual Jap cars. 200bhp n/a so reasonably quick, with a few tweaks and a louder exhaust it'd be a very nice little car.

Small matter of finding £27k

I'd quite happily have one of these! I think they look great (especially the white one with the body kit on the main stand) and they feel really sturdy. I was hoping they'd say 'well you seemed to enjoy driving that, so why don't you take it home with you'... no such luck...

Guess I'd better buy a lottery ticket tomorrow!

They look great:nod: ideally you'd need something like a sporty estate and maybe some form of tourer to compliment one though:ok:

Would make for a nice three car garage;):SM:

like the white one with tail on,but need too black head lights and tail lights out too go with the rear diffuser.

LOL!!!!

Julia was surprisingly taken with it, Ron! You had better discuss terms with her over extending the garage.

Next I need some form of justification for a fourth car, and I am finding it a bit difficult when each of the above manages only about 2-3k a year. Over to you Matey!!

I sat in the back too (obviously only half your height!) and could not believe how comfy the seats were!! Well done to Claire for getting a drive!!

Got a test drive booked with Toyota very soon, and with Subaru when they eventually get one in!!! Culverwells are only getting two, apparently! And not sure of date, hence why they have not arranged a day for us yet.

Looks pretty smart and I like the one with the Bodykit...... not sure if that's because it looks like a porker if you squint whilst looking at it!!

Nige 30-06-2012 10:31 AM

They look the business but lack power. You can't have a car that looks like that & not have any go in it. Look what happend to the RX8! One of the best looking cars I've seen come out of Japan. Again let down with an underpowered **** engine. When the combinations are wrong like the Mazda the 2nd hand price falls big time. Subaru / Toyota must have this covered with a turbo version in the next couple of years. My opinion only

SUBARMAN 30-06-2012 10:50 AM

The one with the bodykit comes out in January.Litchfields have one, apparently, that they are playing with. There was talk of supercharger rather than turbo for tuner rather than official "hotter" versions. An STI version is already on the cards and a concept of this was shown at Tokyo motor show. Subaru BRZ STI Concept Gets Japanese Debut: 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon

First unveiled at the LA Auto Show late last year the Subaru BRZ STI Concept is no longer just a hint at things to come. Just a month ago at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Japanese automaker officially drew back the covers on the production BRZ (while Toyota did the same with its GT 86).
An already impressive machine (read our review of its sibling, the Scion FR-S here), the BRZ makes 200-hp, has an amazing weight balance and a low center of gravity. The STI concept takes the car’s performance a step further with custom aerodynamics, larger 18-inch wheels, a light weight carbon fiber hood, custom exhaust and a carbon fiber roof – further lowering the car’s center of gravity.
